Here is the weekly review for La Liga:
Hope you enjoy. :-)
You cannot put the Champions league in the same category as the Copa because it is only on the club level.
World Cup is definitely more important but the European championships is basically the same thing, only it is in Europe.
It defines the European Champion just as Copa defines the South American one. The European champion is not is not necessarily held in higher regard than the South American one.
In the recent Fifa rankings even Mexico jumped 19th spots to 9th in the World after beating such class opponents in the Gold Cup. Were Argentina go through to win it all their ranking would rise also
Copa is only held in odd years by the way, so 2006 should be 2007, and the statement concerning Robinho as top scorer while Brazil won a 'pointless' Copa makes no sense.
The argument here is about Messi finding his top form for the Argentina squad in a major tournament, just as he does for Barcelona. If there is any fault against him right now, then that is it.
Yes he will have to win more than the Copa, but he is more than just a top 20 player already, considering what he has done at club level.

DOWN AND OUT...where's Arsenal??? Bye Bye
