Some of my favorite memories are “field anchoring” from Memorial stadium while reporting for Lincoln’s 10/11 News. I’ve covered some of the Husker’s biggest games of recent memory.
I was on the field when the Huskers beat Oklahoma: 10-3 at Nebraska’s Memorial Stadium in 2009.
I was reporting from the field during the 300th sellout of Memorial stadium.
I was a student broadcaster during a handful of other victories/heartbreaks.
I was even a freshman in the second row, 50-yard-line in 2001, for “the pass” from Mike Stuntz to Eric Crouch. The stadium shook like it never had before. After the fact my floor mate, Mike Stuntz, passed it off as a fluke.
My tradition is with the Huskers and I enjoy it very much.
