Mike's Bio

I am a lifelong Formula One fanatic follwing F1 since the late 70's, who has been very lucky in being able to work in the pits during the 80's and have also worked in many other formulae as a team member.

I tend to favour a driver rather than support a team, and have supported as follows:

Carlos Reutemann
Martin Brundle
Michael Schumacher
Mark Webber
I go to as many Grand Prix as possible and have written articles on other sites during the past few years.
Whilst Formula 1 is my main passion, I also watch ANY type of motorsport! ( and have opinions on most of them!)

I have done a fair amount of circuit racing myself and the picture in my profile is me racing my Formula BMW car this year!

  1. Wow, you're racing in the formula BMW series!? Awesome!

I've only managed to go to some track days with my (sadly stock) 3 series...

  2. PM me please.

  3. Blinding loyalty will get the job done if that's all you are interested in. Personally I'm in favour of balance. Last year, Webber made some elementary mistakes, and it seemed to me that the pressure did get to him ... but this year, I've enjoyed watching him. It's great that he is being pushed by his team mate and he seems to be revelling in it.

He's my most admired Australian at the moment.

    Keep up the work.

  4. I really do not know, I think sometimes it is pot luck, I mean it took me about 100+ articles to get my first POTD, whereas some people, like Ben Auty, get POTD for every article, even if they are not so good.

Its all politics around here mate, lol.

  5. To be honest I am not sure. Have written so many articles, some have which have gone straight to the top while other hardly get published!

  6. He mate

wrote a piece which I tried to make my master piece. Could you please cheack it out. Don't be scared of telling me if it is bad

I look forward to seieng the photos! Must say that I'm quite jealous.

Financial forecasts? That's my forte! I work for Australia's largest independant financial modelling firm (www.bpmglobal.com) and specialise in the development of enterprise-wide forecasting models. Exciting stuff! You may be interested in these free spreadsheet modelling standards (www.ssrb.org) which we developed.

    Hope it's of interest

  8. Hey mate.
Did my first slide show today. It is supposed to be humor. Tell me if you like it

  9. P.S - Love the formula bmw!

  10. Hi Mike

Thanks for your note. I'm based in Melbourne so unfortunately won't be able to make it to see Webbo - although it would be an absolute thrill to. I've been following Mark for many years and have had many 2am Monday morning sessions watching the races live. Please feel free to pass on my best wishes to him from a big fan Downunder of course!

In relation to that Paul guy, what I can't believe is that he is a senior writer - which either makes him a man of at least some stature or a very good, drug addicted computer hacker! In all seriousness though, for a senior writer he's got a pretty poor attitude!

Thanks for your support - I was pleased to see that your article mirrored some of the observations made in an my article titled Turkish Grand Prix Revelations.

Look forward to keeping in touch.

    Nic

    Ryan.

  14. Hey Mike, do you have information or sites on how you can get into racing Formula BMW?

Costs, locations etc, I'd be very grateful.

    Ryan.
