Brian's Bio

Brian Scott is a New Orleans, LA based freelance writer covering political, social, historical, and sports-related themes. Brian has joined the Bleacher Report because he is quite simply a fanatic of the great game of College Football. As an LSU ALumni (1997) and LSU Football season ticket holder he naturally follows the LSU Tigers very closely, but also chooses to objectively follow not just other SEC teams, but every other team of interest in the nation. After all, in the BCS era everybody's W/L record affects everbody's season!

Having traveled to many college campuses across America, Brian enjoys nothing more than a traditional college town with fans that are as passionate about their football team as they are about their religion. You will notice him giving props to teams with storied traditions as well as to modern era up and comers who are bulding traditions that will no doubt last for generations.

When Brian isn't in the Northeast end zone of Tiger Stadium, you can no doubt find him at the local tavern in front of a tall pint and any big screen TV showing sports. Keep a watch out for this guy, because you never know when he'll be strolling around your college town!

  1. Hey Brian,

So I know we talked about a Poker section awhile ago...http://bleacherreport.com/poker

Would you still be interested in writing about this/leading this Community?

If so, let's start out with a list of famous Poker players you'd like me to add, and what tournaments they play for.

    Hope all is well,
    Zander

  3. how bout a couple of tiger fans going back to back on the POTD??!! Not bad for a couple of Louisiana boys, eh?

  4. See? Had it all the way. Congratulations on the Pick of the Day.

  5. congrats on the POTD, it's a great feeling when you're peers appreciate your work and this latest article has struck a chord with many. congrats.

oh and btw, i'll have the tailgating article up in the morning.

  6. Brian, I'm trying not to gush too much about your article on life in the SEC, but I want to tell you again that it was the best I have ever read ob BR. Maybe it's because I'm a southern boy that lives across the nation now, but it called me back home to a tradition that still lives in my heart. BTW, I have the only Georgia Bulldawg mailbox in Idaho, and we still cook and gather to watch the games! Thanks again!

  7. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/46616-tim-tebow-looks-to-reach-sec-championship-game

Florida looks to dominate. I'd like your take on it please and thank you.

  8. Bri-

Pete closed the practices, but I did attend some Spring practices, and to be honest, I would Love Aaron Corp to be second on the depth roster. He's got a cannon of an arm and great escapability. From what we are hearing, Sanchez should be fine for Virginia on August 30th. It doesn't appear to be as serious as it sounds because there is no ligament damage. He's already re-habbing right now. :)

  9. Thanks for the POTD. It was much appreciated.

  10. I truly hope you caught my late comment regarding yourself and Jimson in your outstanding "Not In Our House" article. I still chuckled to myself about that today.

  11. I missed an opportunity for radio in college - making it tough to get in now. I'd love to do a non-sports open phoneline 'rage' show. Keep me updated if you make it back in!

  12. Brian, I've been following all of your articles. Tremendous grip on the issues discussed. You have over 4,000 reads for the Part I of the Top 25, an outstanding amount of reads. Keep up the good work and I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your good work.

  13. Thanks for adding me as a fan, Brian!

I look forward to seeing more of your work!

    - Jeff

  14. ha, no rust on you my friend.

one of the things i forgot to mention (you may or may not know) that B/R has a partnership with foxsports.com

so fox takes some of the articles they like and puts them on their pages. it's pretty cool. my last one made it up there this week (i think it's my third overall) but it always helps to say that your work has appeared on a nat'l website like theirs.

check out their coll fball page, it will have many articles from here.

  15. Brian-

Haha...no worries...I have been told that before.

I won't call in on the phones...I wouldn't want to cause any disruptions in Louisiana...ya'll have had enough bad luck from Katrina. You need a break. Go Saints!
