Brian's Bio

I spent my summers playing baseball before discovering basketball. I took third in the Kingsford Punt, Pass & Kick competition when I was about 12, when all the other kids teased I was a wimp.

I eventually grew up and filled out, but my passion for sports was superceded by my desire to write. Pretty sure scoring 53 points in a men's league game was enough to impress a sports editor into giving me my first writing gig.

I find myself now a stay-at-home dad, legally blind, but a devoted fan of many sports. I write for the internet now. Don't know if I'll ever make a dime for this time consuming hobby, but living in Green Bay during this era inspires me at times to opine.

Hopefully I will evolve as a writer from my experiences as a journalist here.

I'm a graduate of Northern Michigan University with an English BA, minor in journalism. I was a radio reporter/news director for several Upper Michigan radio stations during the late 80s and early 90s. Won three state broadcasting awards working for WNMU-FM, a Public Radio station.

Worked for the Daily Press in Escanaba, Mi and earned some cash from the Milwaukee Sentinel as a stringer in my early years. I turned to television for my last job as a news assignment editor at a Green Bay station in 1997, before I gave up because of my struggles with glaucoma, the greatest challenge in my life.
