Tanya's Bio
I'm a broadcasting journalist major at Brooklyn College. I am hoping to work either for SNY or WFAN 660AM in New York.
Baseball is my favorite sport. A passionate Mets fan, I write blogs for MetsMerizedOnline.com. I also have my own Mets site, CitiField of Dreams.com. I do watch football. The New York Giants are my team.
I am known as Lady Met on myspace where I started to write my blogs. The name was actually given to me by my friends. Most people say I am a controversial writer when it comes to the Mets because I always suggest moves, that if I were the GM, people would kill me for, but would get the job done.
Hope you all enjoy the articles as much as I enjoy writing them.

Well, their article isn't too much different, but judge for yourself: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/2008/10/15/2008-10-15_nats_eyeing_willie_randolph_as_coach.html
I think that it's fine the way it is, but it's up to you.

No problem, Tanya. I also read the article in the NY Daily News this morning.

Ah I see. Well drunk guys are drunk whether they are from Philly or New Jersey, NY, etc. If you got punched by a drunk Philly fan, to me its the same as getting punched by any drunk guy. I wouldn't hold the city accountable for that...

Thanks for dropping by! I'll be writing some things on Randolph if he ends up in NY!

Oh Tanya, hasn't anyone ever told you that flattery will get you everywhere. (Bribes are nice as well.)
I'll be sure and get to it first thing in the morning!

Hyphenation actually has rather lengthy rules governing their use. Basically, they're used to separate compound words and compound adjectives, as well as provide syllabication.
In the spirit of full disclosure: I love hyphens. I use them more than others, as it can be a subjective choice at times. I use the hyphen in "minor-league [insert word here]" just to help with confusion that someone new to sports may have. If it's just "minor league pitcher," someone might think that it's an underage league pitcher (unlikely, but the hyphen makes sure it never happens).
It's the same reason I like to put periods in A.L. Most people know it's America League, but once my friend was reading over my shoulder and asked how the Angels were winning the Alabama West division. I've used periods ever since.
Now I actually have a questions of my own. It's a little odd, just something to satisfy the curious ethnologist in me: Is there a correlation between baseball and football fans in New York? Does being a Mets fan make you either a Jets or a Giants fan, or any combination of the teams?
