Most Memorable Game Attended
Lots of stuff... any of the Expos' games my dad took me to while they were still around are nice to remember. It's a shame when sports teams have to move.
Most Unbreakable Sports Record
Gretzky's points record in the NHL is virtually untouchable.
Ruth or Mays?
Mays
Unitas or Montana?
Montana had better hair? (insert Simpsons reference)
Pele or Maradona?
Pele... bad move on playing for "The Cosmos" at the end of his career, but otherwise he was a pretty big deal... plus, Maradona's "hand of God" nonsense was frustrating to me as an England fan, even though I was born 3 months after it happened.

Hey, thanks for the compliments. And your posting went up three times for some reason, so thanks for making me look like I have more bulleting board material (talk about a phrase that could have a COMPLETELY different meaning, like your "agonizing rules changes"...) than I really have. Sounds like we coupld talk about said changes for a long time, but instead of it being a debate as I read into it, it would be mostly an agreement.

hey man thanks for that! I definetly think that his release is utter bull....I seriously can't stand it and I'm having a really hard time going to the JAys page without him there....he had that big of an impact on this team...Hill and Dustin are good choices...I definitely think that he'll be really good sooner rather than later.

Hey Nick,
I just wanted to let you know that Bleacher Report has launched out of beta with an updated look and feel and some great new features. Check out the "Game On" link in the header to find out more.
Next week we'll be launching the site to the world with some public announcements—and it'd be great to get a contribution from you between now and Tuesday to make Bleacher Report's launch a success.
Let me know if you need any help with ideas or have questions. Have a great weekend Nick!

My rule of thumb on headlines is: What's the main point of the article? You wrote how the Leafs' struggles were a call for the team to rebuild, so those are the main elements of the headline. Since we have two sentences (separated by a question mark, ellipsis, or colon), the first sentence can be a rhetorical question, or pun, or whatever, with the second sentence more tuned to content. I also make sure to fully spell out each team or player name (I kinda cheated on yours, but "Toronto" "Maple" "Leafs" are all there, more or less in sequence and barely separated).
For teasers, I generally adhere to a two-sentence rule: first sentence can be whatever (usually, I leave whatever the author originally wrote); second sentence is of the form "[Author name] says/examines/thinks ..." It's helpful to think of it like question & answer, problem & solution, or set-up & punchline. First sentence is the situation that prompted you to write the article, second sentence is your take on it.
Probably more than you wanted to know. But again, thanks for the article. I really did enjoy it, and thought quite highly of it.

Hey Nick—just wanted to say that I really loved your Best of 2007 article on the success league wide of Canadian ballplayers. Great to see the game broadening its international appeal and watching our neighbors playing at the highest level.
Out of curiosity: who in your mind is the best Canadian ballplayer to date? Larry Walker? Eric Gagne? Jeff Zimmerman? Justin Morneau?
I'm guessing that ten years down the line the answer will be totally different, but it's interesting to see some of the Canadians really starting to put their mark on the league...
