RE: Homestead...the way the economy is tix should or might come up at the last minute.

I drove down to Richmond with 3 guys and no tix...granted it rained but we got both races for 25% cost.

Pretty cool. I'm not saying you'll get that lucky but...ya never know ;0)

I haven't had the pleasure of a trip to Homestead.

Miami must be quite an experience with the old town's architecture, nightlife and all. The food is legendary and would be a pilgrimage for an old Chef like me.

Robert, I like our chances this weekend against Washington. Jason Campbell doesn't have a full grasp of the offense, Clinton Portis and Santana Moss are the only offensive weapons they have (Cooley is overrated), and I would bet on our offense against any defense. I think we will be 2-0.

i kinda got what i thought i was gonna get with sunday's game with the exception of the defense playing better than i thought and the offense playing worse than i thought.

TB had too many drives where they deeked and dunked little short passes around the field on us (i know that's garcia's thing but sheesh!!) and the tackling especially in the secondary was horrendous.

i thought tracy porter was a bright spot and vilma too. but there were too many times where we lacked a pass rush. gibbs seemed to call blitzes very infrequently and it stumped me b/c they seemed to work when he did it.

i hope pierre thomas stays healthy b/c reggie will always be the type of back who needs someone else to compliment him and i really like pierre's game. hopefully deuce will back soon. other than brees' stupid INT i thought he played farely well. the O-line coulda been a little better.

shockey was great. he was limited in the passing game but he was killing his guys in the running game. i liked that alot. overall not a bad way to start the season and the defense stepped up when they needed to.

BTW, reggie knee was out before he scored that TD, but oh well, we could use some of those to go our way.

in case you're curious i have us splitting with TB and Car, and losing to CHI, DEN, SD, and either OAK or DET (i know either of the last two may be a stretch but this is the saints we're talking about).

i was wondering your take on the saints schedule especially on the back end. with the stupid london game this year the saints spend the majority of the end of the season on the road. i hope it doesn't take a toll.

i think it's the biggest obstacle this year.

Gotta tell you, I liked the way you handled Eddie G - he is a troll and the way to deal with them, IMO, is to be nice and cordial when disagreeing and then just change the subject- its drives people (trolls) like that nuts and puts em right in a corner -

Anyhow, going to his board and saying that someday you guys could meet, beat the hell out of each other and then go have a beer together speaks volumes to your tolerance - and thus your education level. Good job defeating his want of utterly shocking you and everyone that reads the article in which he rants on....much respect.

He got a formal warning by Z for being that inappropriate as well - I want to leave one thought for you...when you get such a negative reaction, like from Eddie, take it as you're doing something right - any exposure is good exposure, but when it is negative - it means youve done your job in ticking someone off - which I do with Eddie all the time. When you garnish outrage by others, then your article will circulate like a M'Fer...consider Mike and the mad Dog, shock jocks - who garnsihed popularity from saying such BS, yet controversial things - it is good for the site in the long run...keep up the great work

I am one of the two NFL community leaders here at Bleacher Report, if I haven't introduced myself to you yet. Hello!

There will be a contest here at BR involving NFL writing. The format will divide the contestants into divisions where they will face off head-to-head each week and tally an overall record throughout the season. The matchups will be judged on number of reads. There will be a Community Leader assigned to each division to housekeep things within their respective division.

I was wondering if you would be interested in assuming the role as head of a division?

No, I totally agree with you Robert - there really is no need. It is disappointing when 99% of us on B/R are here for the same reason, but the odd one or two just want to insult others. Not necessary.

The only problem B/R has is where do they put articles like yours? After all, most people come here for pure sports discussion. But I think this whole "self-regulation" of B/R is something they are looking to try and improve.

We'll see, Brees and his WR's are going to get whined to death...Shockey's not a team player and loves showing up his quarterback...at least he did in NY and that's why he got traded...I hope I'm wrong.

I always felt that the Saints have the classiest uniforms in the NFL...second to the Baltimore Colts of course.

I always put a dime down for a Saints Super Bowl...every year.

No worries Robert, and sorry if my editor feedback seemed a bit flippant - at the time I thought the article might have been some sort of in-joke between you two, what with Eddie G being on your list of favourite writers etc.

Having looked at it more it seems a genuine complaint - and if it is really bothering you (I know the picture thing would annoy me) then as I said, leave a note with Zander and I am sure he will sort it.

In response to your request for predictions on the Saints 2008 season, I offer this:
I'm a DIEHARD Saints fan, but I can still be objective when need be. Prior to these two preseason games I honestly and objectively thought the Saints had compiled a top 10-15 defense. I thought Sedrick Ellis shored up our defense line, Vilma solidified the linebacking corp, and Tracy Porter and Usama Young would come along and take over as starters no later than midway through the season (I don't think Mike Mckenzie will come back to form). I thought we would have the best offense in the NFC and maybe the NFL, and that was before we acquired Jeremy Shockey.
Now, I'm scratching my head over the defense, and am drooling over the offense. Our defense made an average to good Texans offense look like "The Greatest Show on Turf", and our offense made a pretty good and I think underrated Texans defense look like, well, the Saints defense.
Obviously, the offense will be the strength of the team; I'm thinking 27 to 30 points a game. The defense, obviously, is a concern. At this point I'm just hoping they don't give up 27 to 30 points a game.
I thought we were going to the Super Bowl but I'm starting to back away from that prediction and now I just hope we can make the playoffs.
