About

I am a U. of Miami, FL alumni so I'm a Miami Hurricane. I grew up in the Philadelphia area and have always been a huge sports fan. I am a fan of all Philadelphia teams first and foremost. I have lived in MA, RI, FL, PA, and NJ. I am passionate and knowledgeable about sports and not afraid to take controversial opinions. I love being an antagonist, I think it is hilarious to get people riled up. I am also a sports handicapper and have been picking games since I was 12 years old. I also have played fantasy sports for 15+ years. I try to be as objective as possible, esp. when posting previews or fact or fiction.
I think I introduced two new columns to this site, FACT OR FICTION and Position by Position Matchup Previews. Always interested in hearing what people think, positive or negative, and I will likely reply if you write me an e-mail or comment.

I also won the 2010 610 WIP Survivor Pool, beating out 26,100 other contestants to win a championship ring. It was a pretty cool accomplishment to beat that many people!

Also, if you enjoy my columns and contributions to this site, or if you hate them but like reading things just so you can get mad and yell at me, then add me to your favorite writers list! Just click become a fan on the top of my bio!

Over 100,000 reads in just 47 articles.....Not a bad ratio! Reached 100K reads in March 2011, less than 6 months since I started on here!

Darren, is Stanley Havili still on the Birds' practice squad. He should have been on your "5 Eagles who deserve more playing time" list.
I watched him the whole time he was at USC and he was great. He averaged over 6 yds a rush and over 10 yds a reception while at USC. He's the fullback the Eagles need.
I cannot find out anything about him these days. I'm sure he's still with the Eagles, so what does he have to do to get onto the field?

Hey, would you be able to send your e mail to klangan@omnipossible.com? I want to get the B/R community leaders on a mailing list for a press release on behalf of Sports Media 101.

    Darren-

I liked the Jets tripping article. I could not agree more.

But, you took some abuse on that article. I am impressed at how you handled that.

Just thought that I would tell you that your responses and toughness deserved some recognition.

    Keep up the good work.

Most absurd column ever. Talk about an over-reaction. OK, suspend him one game. The media attention he got for his .5 second lack of judgment is actually punishment enough. But has anyone else noticed that Carrol was breaking the rules on that play anyway? He was WAY out of bounds, and even when Alosi stuck his knee out, he was outside the white "clear area." Carrol shouldn't have been there. If he had tackled the ball carrier, it would have been a penalty. But what Alosi did was wrong. Apologize, bask in 15 minutes of fame, and move on.
