About

I eat, drink and live sports! I would probably be totally insane if was not it.
Nothing but love for my Philadelphia Eagles (since '79). My second passion is college basketball (Georgetown). I am a former sportswriter (Starkville, MS) with a mass communications degree (Rust College--Holly Springs, MS).
I have been out of the industry for awhile and looking to get back in. With social media at an all-time high right now, I am learning on the curve and hope to land a fulltime paying gig somewhere. If anyone out there have any leads, give me a shoutout.

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

Current NFL Player: Aaron Rodgers; NFL Favorite Player All-Time: Walter Payton; Current NBA Player: Dwyane Wade; All-Time NBA Favorite Player: Elvin Hayes; Current MLB Player: Carl Crawford; All-Time Favorite MLB Player: Hank Aaron

  • Favorite Sports Teams

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles; NBA: New York Knicks; MLB: Tampa Bay Rays; College Basketball: Georgetown Hoyas; College Football: Tennessee Vols

  • Favorite Coaches

NFL: Mike Tomlin; NBA: Doc Rivers; MLB: Joe Maddon; College Basketball: Roy Williams; College Football: Frank Beamer

  • All-Time Sports Moment

1974: Hank Aaron's 715th home run to break Babe Ruth's record. I was only 9-years old and I stay up past bedtime to watch Aaron hit the home run off of L.A. Dodgers' pitcher Al Downing

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Watched the Philadelphia Eagles play the New York Jets in a preseason game in Jackson, MS in August of 1994. It was the first time I had ever attended a professional sporting event.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak is untouchable. With today's pitching and technology (scouting), I seriously doubt that the record will ever be broken.

  • Ruth or Mays?

I have to go with Willie Mays. The reason was because Mays was more skilled all-around than the Babe.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Joe Montana is the qreatest NFL alltime QB (in my opinion). However, Aaron Rodgers of Green Bay will probably go down as the best ever at the pace he's going.

  • Jordan or Russell?

This is no comparison. Jordan hands down. Micheal Jordan will go down as the greatest sports athlete ever.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Wayne Gretzy changed hockey during the '80s. I would have to say him.

  • Pele or Maradona?

I was a little kid and I remember the great Pele during the early '70s.

  • Federer or Sampras?

Although Federer is more powerful, but I was a big Pete Sampras when he first arrived.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

    The Eye of the Tiger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

King Richard. I loved seeing him in that #43 STP car.

  • Schumacher or Senna?

    Schumacher.

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

NCAA Football: SEC hands down!!!!!!!!; NCAA Basketball: Although the ACC has won more titles, my love for Big East basketball will never change.

Good piece on Suh, man. I can't understand how the people commenting see him as anything but dirty. He is a scar on the image of the NFL and the more he wreaks his havoc, the more people will begin to look down on the league.
