West Virginia-Pitt: Another Year, Another Backyard Brawl
11/26/2009
R.G. Yoho was born in West Virginia, but lives in Ohio with his wife, children, and a nephew. Recently, his son and daughter-in-law presented him and his wife with their first grandchild.
Recently accepting a severance following 25 years in the plastics industry, R.G. has been a freelance writer for years in a number of fields.
The author of three books, R.G. has published two Western novels, "Long Ride to Yesterday," and his recently released book, "Death Comes to Redhawk." In addition, his biography of former, college football great, Major Harris, is currently in search of a publisher.
But throughout it all, R.G. has been a life-long, West Virginia Mountaineers fan.
Whenever I think of the Backyard Brawl, my mind is immediately flooded with memories and emotions. In fact, it was the weekend of the Pitt game when I spoke to my dear mother for the last time...
Hey RG,

Hi RG
Here is the sixth installment of my Cooperstown’s Best series, rating the shortstops. This will be my final “blast” for these articles. It makes me feel cheap to pimp my articles, so I gotta stop it. Take a look if you can.

This is another article in my series: MLB History 101 –
It is the story of Moe Berg – an alleged spy for the CIA. Please give it a look if you can find time.

Hi RG
Sorry to monopolize your bulletin board this way, but I do value your opinion.
This is a follow-up to a story I wrote yesterday where I said Votto could be having “panic attacks’. Please take a look and see what you think.

Hey RG
This is a story about the shortened career of Herb Score and what could have been. I think it is some of my best work. Would you please look at it?

Awesome. I will try to hunt down a copy. I am eventually going to write a book about my father who is a former Marine that served in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive in the Quang Tri province.
It will be hard because he doesn't like talking about it at all and I have never really pressed the issue, but I feel that his story must be shared and told.

What's the name of your WWII book? I am a huge history buff.
