I'm a California native but a New Yorker by heart. Having been involved with martial arts since I was 14 years old, I fell in love with jiu jitsu with great thanks for my friend who got my feet wet with a first lesson on the arm-bar. I started with karate at 14yrs old and about 4 years later, I became a bit bored with it. Things changed in 1994 when I received my first lesson in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This hooked me onto Muay Thai, then the evolving sport of mixed martial arts and reality based self defense and weapons training. Martial arts have helped me mature into a better human being with humility, honor, and respect. "Martial art means honestly expressing yourself"-Bruce Lee
