Ricky's Bio

Hey, this is Rick. I am a 23 year old sport fanatic and ex athlete. I have no experience writing, yet I love to voice my opinion, even if people don't like it. In turn, I respect the opinions of others and enjoy reading about them. I generally back up mine with statistics.

First and foremost I am a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Bulls. When it comes to college sports, I follow Irish football and Hoosier basketball, though I root for both in both sports.

My everyday life consists of me running my two start-up companies, Just Muck Poker, Inc (August) and Jayel Brand LLC (later in 2008). Real quick, Just Muck is an apparel company that is built around poker and is 50% owner of Jayel Brand LLC which is a new clothing line. The other half is owned by Jennifer Leigh LLC. I recomend that the guys look her up.

  3. Thanks for reading my article and I appreciate your feedback. However, I do not feel that it is wrong to compare the NFL and MLB. They are both highly successful professional athletic organizations that should, in theory, not only provide competition in a given sport, but also benefits for its members. After all, athletes are the foundation of athletic leagues and without them, there would not be any profit.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the point that MLB's players' union is much more organized and proactive when compared to its NFL counterpart. And this is exactly the reason I feel is why there is such a disparaging gap between MLB and NFL retiree benefits. The point of my article is to highlight this problem, as it is often overlooked by the media.

Thanks again for your comment, and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best,
    Brandon
