David's Bio
Life-long Philadelphia sports fan, born and raised on the outskirts of Philly. Been going to Eagles/Sixers/Phillies games my whole life. Season tickets to the Eagles, been going to games with my dad and brother since I was 5. Its now been 100 sports seasons without a championship and I'm sick of it. I was 5 when the Phillies won in '80, 8 when the Sixers won in '83 and 10 when Villanova shocked Georgetown in '85. In my adult life, the only thing I can hang my hat on is my Alma Mater Maryland Terrapins winning the 2002 Mens Basketball National Championship.
I also enjoy gambling on anything and everything. I play in 3 different fantasy football leagues, along with fantasy baseball and fantasy golf. I'm also an avid Poker player, (play on-line at PokerStars) and I also play down in AC and Vegas. I played in the Main Event of the WSOP in '05 and '06, making it to Day 2 both times, but cashing in neither.
I'm a diehard sports fan and I enjoy writing my thoughts out and sharing my opinions. I try to be as entertaining as possible so if by some chance someone is actually reading this, they might get a chuckle.

The Short List What David thinks about sport's most pressing questions
-
Favorite Athletes
About 12 years ago my answer was easy, Ken Griffey Jr. I even named my dog Griffey. But I'm 33 now....older than most of these guys, its hard to have a favorite athlete anymore. However I do root harder for certain guys on my favorites teams, such as.....Jayson Werth, Pat Burrell, Brett Myers, Lou Williams, Lito Sheppard and Brian Dawkins
-
Favorite Sports Teams
Philadelphia Phillies Philadelphia 76ers Philadephia Eagles Philadelphia Flyers
-
All Time Sports Moment
Sixers winning Game 1 of the 2001 NBA finals in LA when Allen Iverson made a corner jumper and stepped over Tyrone Lu afterwards as he headed back down court.
-
Most Memorable Game Attended
Tough call between Game 7 of the 2001 NBA Eastern Conference Finals Sixers vs Bucks and the 2004 NFC Championship game Eagles vs Falcons. Both games sent the teams to the Finals/Super Bowl and the crowds were unreal.
-
Most Unbreakable Sports Record
There's quite a few out there. I don't think Ripken's record will be broken or Orel Heshiser's 59 consecutive scoreless innings streak either...but my favorite is the record for most triples in a season, 36, set in 1912 by John Owen "Chief" Wilson. It's one of the oldest records in sports.
-
Ruth or Mays?
Wow, another tough call, both obviously before my time. They played in different era's so its really hard to say. I go Mays only cause its more recent.
-
Unitas or Montana?
Same lines as Ruth or Mays, although I was never a Big Joe fan, so I Johnny U here.
-
Jordan or Russell?
Definitely Jordan. I'll say this, I hated Michael Jordan, still do, but you gotta respect the man. Yeah Russell has more rings, and put up some big numbers, but Jordan owned the sport when he played and still does now.
-
Gretzky or Orr?
Well Orr came first, but you don't talk the best player in hockey without the name Gretzy.
-
Pele or Maradona?
Brazil vs Argentina...enough said.
-
Federer or Sampras?
what Federer has done has been amazing, but I've already spent too much time on this answer.
-
Tiger or Nicklaus?
Still Jack.
-
Petty or Earnhardt?
Auto racing...you're kidding right?
-
Schumacher or Senna?
who?
-
Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?
ACC 1st....then Big East....I'm East Coast!

Hey David—Dave Mo here, a Bleacher Report Community Coordinator.
I've been spending time on our 76ers page and read a couple of your old articles. Really on-point analysis...you do good work.
Given that you haven't written in a while, I thought I'd check in and see if you're interested in picking up your coverage again. What do you say?
If not, it would be great if you could give me some feedback on why you decided to stop writing and what we could have done to better serve you. If you wouldn't mind, please shoot me a line at dmorrison@bleacherreport.com with any thoughts.
Thanks so much,
Dave Mo

I'm turning 29 this year. You do the math. I watched the '86 world series with my family.
At least it didn't take my team over 90 years to get it. For a team that's been around for more than a century, it is appalling they do not have more.

Talk all you want. You only have one championship in over 100 years of existance. So sad!

A Philly fan AND a Terp grad...pretty cool.

Ok...but what format did you use? Did Blogger give it to you, did you create it, or did another company create it?

Got it. I'm not sure why you were having issues. If it happens again please let me know and we'll take a closer look at what's going on.

Great article on the Philadelphia teams! I just wanted to know whether I could post in on my blog (under your name of course)? The article would still be yours, obviously, it's just a way of getting it more publicity. I will also post a link to your BR profile. Site address is eaglesfever.blogspot.com (although it is still under construction)!
Let me know what you think!
Thanks
