Grew up in New Orleans, college at Vanderbilt and grad school at Northwestern. Saints, Commodores and Wildcats. Yes, I've had my share of sports disappointments.
But I've been fortunate enough to watch class acts like Archie Manning and Drew Brees whilst enjoying a cup or three of Dome foam; to be part of the student section at the wonderful Memorial Gym and witness to inspiring upset victories by Barry Goheen, Barry Booker and Will Purdue; and to host a killer Rose Bowl party on a balmy Los Angeles night for my classmates recently sprung from chilly Evanston.
I've joined my dad and brother under Touchdown Jesus; the Angels had the support of me and my future wife from the upper deck when they took the Series from the Giants; and I had a better seat than Warren Moon and Chris Berman (good story here) at Super Bowl XXXII to see John Elway get his first SB victory.
I've spent nearly fifteen years learning from some of the best while pushing the boundaries of consumer media and entertainment at places like Disney/ESPN and THQ. I joined Bleacher Report as its CEO because I believe that B/R is not only a great place to be a sports fan but that it is important to the future of media. What we are doing -- together -- matters.
With just a couple of days before the 2010 Ford Ironman Championship in Hawaii, I talk with one of the favorites—last year's runner-up, American Chris Lieto:
