Comment about your article "Boston Red Sox : Predicting the End-of-the-Year Numbers for the Starting Lineup"
This article is absolute garbage... I am a HUGE Red Sox fan, but this article is WAY too optimistic. The 2011 Sox team hit 203 HRs, and had 842 RBIs. Your article is suggesting that nine guys on the 2012 team will hit 225 HRs and 845 RBIs, which is more than the ENTIRE 2011 Red Sox team! IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!
Not to mention your inaccurate statement about Pedroia, "Pedroia had a down year last year, but still managed to hit a career high 21 home runs. Like Ellsbury, Pedroia is becoming a five-tool player, and he is still only 28 years old."
Pedroia was more of a "Five Tool Player" than Ellsbury ever was, until last year... I think we can all agree Ellsbury is a phenomenal player, but Pedroia's always been considered a five tool player.
Now, about Pedroia's "down year". He set career highs in HRs (21), RBIs (91), SBs (26), BBs (86), OBP (.387), and OPS+ (131). How does one justify calling Pedroia's 2011 season a "down year"?!
How can you honestly defend your predictions? Do you seriously think that the starting 9 for the 2012 Sox will hit more HRs and have more RBIs than the ENTIRE 2011 team?
Come on, get real here...
Thank you for the kind words.
