I like Velasquez and I think he has a chance in the rematch, but he is absolutely not "the uncrowned king of the heavyweight division." Look...

So eight months and he's good to go? Can't wait. Marking it on my calender as we speak: June 2012, GSP vs. Silva...GSP could fight him tomorrow or coulda fought him months ago if he wanted to. Jake Shields and Kos? Please, no one thought for a milisecond either were legit challengers. They say Edgar walks around approximately at 155, BJ walks around under 165, Demetrious Johnson around 135, and all Japanese fighters around their weight class (okay, horrible example)...so weight disparities aren't exactly unprecedented. GSP walks around what, 190 or so? And I'm willing to bet anything even that's because he eats and trains like he has a fight every day of his life. If he let himself go like the Rampages and Anthony Johnsons of the world, then we would truly get his true, even substantially higher, natural weight.
But whatever, this is all for naught. Just gotta hurry up and wait. Good to have a good and civil debate. It's just that, just like with Hendo, he wouldn't be able to completely shut him down for 25 minutes. And I am definitely no fan of Silva, which is why I want the Jones super-fight so much.
Hey Andrew, yes I am 100 percent serious about GSP. Are you talking the conditions in which he said would "naturally" have to gain 15 or so pounds of muscle just to close the disparity somewhat with Silva? Yea, how convenient...something noooo one in the world has control over except him. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if that never "naturally" happened. I get it, I'm just a punk behind a keyboard calling out one of the MMA greats for a perceived lack of courage. But he has only confirmed such beliefs time after time. Like I always say as a student of psychology, don't let emotions and bias cloud reason my friend. I know these examples aren't nearly on par, but I'm sure it would drive everyone crazy if I went around saying Dong Hyun Kim would tear GSP or that the US soccer team is, without a shadow of a doubt, the most talented and technically proficient side in the world simply out of what most of the most extreme and ridiculous bias in the world boils down to: racial and geographic randomness.
Yes sir! Glad to help sir!
