Lyell's Bio

Hi my name is Lyell Marks and I am currently a Sophomore at San Jose State. I grew up in a small town called Colfax which is about an hour north of sacramento. I have played baseball my entire life, and to this day the hardest decision of my life was choosing not to play at the collegiate level. I knew that my future lay somewhere else. I knew I could compete physically and mentally, but I knew that there were more pressing issues in my life. So, here I am today as a writer. I have been published over 100 times in a number of papers near my town, and I also write the baketball teams meida guide for Colfax High School. I love writing, I love sports and more importantly what sports and athletics can do for a young individual. I'm always looking for the stories that arn't mainstream. I love the underdog. I have been told by many that I would never be anything, and can relate to those who have been told the same thing. I dream of one day becoming a sportscenter anchor. Hope you enjoy my writing. Feel free to contact me at lyellstyle@hotmail.com

  1. Hey Lyell,

I just wanted to let you know that Bleacher Report has launched out of beta with an updated look and feel and some great new features. Check out the "Game On" link in the header to find out more.

Next week we'll be launching the site to the world with some public announcements—and it'd be great to get a contribution from you between now and Tuesday to make Bleacher Report's launch a success.

Let me know if you need any help with ideas or have questions. Have a great weekend Lyell!

    Zander

  2. Lyell-
Great to see you made your way to the site. Hope all is going well so far.

  3. Glad the edits check out Lyell. As far as article topics--my one suggestion is to write from the heart. If it's about sports, BR has a place for it...which means your own passion should be the only guiding factor. Seems like you've got a pretty good handle on that so far...
