Simon's Bio
I am 26 years old from Peterborough in England. I have a degree in Sociology and Film Studies, and am really just writing about football as a hobby at the moment.
The bio pic was taken at my wedding to my lovely wife Alex in August 2007, and I was a little worse for wear!
I am a Peterborough United ('The Posh') season ticket holder, they play in League 2 in England (4th tier) and are managed by Sir Alex Ferguson's son Darren, who is doing a great job. We have our own version of 'Roman Abramovich' in Irish property magnate Darragh MacAnthony, who has invested some £5m in the club in a little over a year. We plan a new stadium, and don't be surprised to see us in the Championship by the next decade as we have some great young players.
'The Posh' are my first football love, but Liverpool come a close second. I have supported them for as long as I can remember, and while I can't deny I started out as a 'glory hunter', as in Barnes, Beardsley, Rush et al they had arguably the best team in Europe in the late 1980's when I was growing up, I would never switch my allegiance no matter what the future has in store for the Mighty Reds. I support the team from afar with every bit as much passion on show as when I support my local team close up.

I know Simon, I'm not classing you as an offender, far from it. I feel you are an important part of this community.
The real offenders have been spoken to in the past (most get bored and disappear) and are actually a little better these days but we all tend to ignore them anyway.
Thanks again.

I'm just trying to do my bit as community leader. All I asked was to cool it with the capitals as I feel they have no place in debating or conversation as we all know it refers to shouting.
Obviously you don't HAVE to heed what I say but a little respect for your fellow writers would be nice. That's all I ask.
Thanks

Hey Simon,
I hope you've been enjoying the new and improved Bleacher Report—we're really happy with the feedback we've received so far.
Just thought I'd let you know that next week we'll be launching the site to the world with some public announcements, and thus it'd be great to get a contribution from you between now and Tuesday to make Bleacher Report's launch a success.
Let me know if you need any help with ideas or have questions. Have a great weekend Simon!

It's funny that, I am hopefully going to that match with my best mate, another posh fan if Charlton get through! I think if we play 4-4-2 from the start, and play Kelly Youga again (and leave out Zheng Zhi and Holland for some young/fresh legs perhaps), then I think we have as good a chance as any. Our away record is the second best in the division, and our home record the second worst...!!! So draw your own conclusions really ;)
I'd love us to get through to play Posh, but it comes down to playing football on the night. I think whatever the outcome, it'll be as good as saturday's match for entertainment.

I really do get fed up with being character assasinated by people who come on here for the sole purpose of aggravating people.
Regarding my article and Joey Barton, how troubled can one individual be?
He has the world at his feet - a premiership footballer! And what has he done? He has spent half his life insisting he is a good boy really, that he doesn't take after his brother in the criminal stakes and that he's a misunderstood individual.
I take serious exception to your "not based in fact" comments, which is frankly libelous considering it IS factual.
Has Barton been released on bail? Yes!
Has Barton been charged three times for assault? Again, Yes!
Has Joey Barton been guilty of some dubious play both on and off the pitch? Again, Yes!
There are no instances in this article where I have made up any event regarding Joey Barton, and your attitude of "I don't agree, therefore you are writing rubbish" - and with regards to the witnesses, no we can't name them, yes there are witnesses, all reported on at the times of each incident, and here - and the reason we can't name them is due to a little thing called the witness protection act. Heard of it? You might have done. It applys to pretty much every court case in the country.
Don't come on here and accuse us of not checking the facts, when certain rules apply that mean we can't provide all of the information - and that includes names of witnesses.
This is NOT 606, quite the contrary, But you risk turning it into a facsimilie of 606 by coming on here and insulting everyone with defammatory results.
