Simon's Bio
I am 27 years old from Peterborough in England. I love football and support my home town club Peterborough United first. The 'Posh' are managed by Darren Ferguson, son of Sir Alex, and are currently in League 1, hoping to be in the Championship before long. I am a season-ticket holder.
Liverpool are my EPL team, and I support them with just as much passion from afar as I do Peterborough up close.

All Time Sports Moment
Dennis Bergkamp's goal in the Wolrd Cup quarter-final with Argentina in France 1998. The best goal ever scored in my opinion.

Peterborough United vs Stockport County, 1992 Division 3 play off final at Wembley. Posh took 28,000 fans (our average attendance is about 5500) and won 2-1 with King Kenny Charlery netting both goals, the winner in the 88th minute, to reach the second tier of English football for the first (and only!) time ever.
Most Unbreakable Sports Record
Peterborough United, record goalscorers in a single English league season with 134 league goals in Division 4, 1960-1961 (Terry Bly netting 52 of those league goals!). Has stood for 47 years and counting....

hey simon,
finally read the article you wrote on the twentieth about the overwhelming amount of fodder appearing on this site. Have noticed it myself, like paragraph long 'articles' that are rearranged bbc peices etc. Also writers who pump out 4-5 articles a day that are just not interesting or informative or anything. It is disturbing but seems to be a trend.
Good to see others have noticed it. Did notice the comments on the article were very reserved in their appraisal of the situation though, seemed like commentary for the sake of it for some. Good to see you are still popping up with a bit of quality.
It was funny you mentioned about good pieces slipping through the cracks. I wrote a piece a little while back, about my experiences growing up as a NZ football fan. It was unnoticed for a few days and then got a whole lot of hits and picks and won pick of the day! So it goes to show that eventually good writing will win out, so all is not lost.
Keep flicking those fingers on the plastic.

Cheers for that, it was deleted. I did credit him for those jokes, but it didn't appear. I tried to edit and it was deleted. Nice one mate, from you commenting to deleting, I had no time at all to credit him with those jokes.
And before you even try, that is not pagiarism. I did not copy word for word, I used the general gist of it. I had an idea, I used it, simple as. I went to credit him and thank him for great jokes every week on mock the week, but because of people like you, I can't do that now. I'm likely to be thrown off here despite the fact that I am one of the top F1 and Football writers, higher than you too so who knows more now?
If I wanted to copy it, I would have put the video in the article. Think before you tarnish someone elses work.
Plagiarism is putting WORD FOR WORD someone elses work in an article and not crediting, and just because I was late in doing so, you feel that you can get on your high horse and force it to be deleted.
You've had it in for me since I ever joined here, saying I know nothing about Football, nothing more than a big bully you know that? Sad act, total sad act.
It is people like you that a putting this site down the proverbial drain.

Hey Simon,
Great stuff with the latest article. I couldn't have agreed more with you if you had told me I was the most handsome guy on earth!
Anyway, I believe the B/R bigwigs are developing ways of ensuring that the more analysis and opinion based articles dominate the limelight—editors are told to give 'breaking news' stories no more than 2 stars. Unfortunately, the situation is by no means solved just yet—as you say it seems we are getting flooded with newcomers all writing 50-100 word articles about how John Terry was named England captain, preventing people getting to the more analytical stuff others have done.
Hopefully though, if people like you keep doing what you are doing and the right system is put in place, the quality and effort will eventually show with increased exposure.
Cheers,
Alex
