About

Hi, I’m Dan Welin and I am currently a sophomore studying journalism in the College of Media at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am from Chicago, IL where I attended Mount Carmel High School.

I am currently the Featured Columnist for Illinois Football, but before attaining this position, I was an intern for Bleacher Report from August to October of 2010. B/R is the first website that I have written for.

In addition to B/R, I was a writer for my high school newspaper, had two ESPN Rise Magazine articles published, and spent one semester writing for the Daily Illini.

I am an aspiring sports writer that lives and breathes sports 24/7. Not only do I enjoy writing about a wide range of topics, but I also love talking sports and reading good writing.

Besides my work here at B/R, you can follow me on Twitter and check out my blog that is posted below.

Thanks for reading and thanks for all the support.

I'm a football novice but I feel that the quarterback has a big part in leading a team and giving it the right focus and attitude. Maybe it's just me, but I did not hear much about Gilbert's Leadership or how he helped his team stay in focus or kept their spirits up. We heard that about McCoy every time we read about him. Am I wrong or is their some fire or energy lacking with Gilbert? You may have a great arm, but if you can't get your teamates to trust and believe in you, then you might as well be a sitting duck...when the opposing team comes after you.

Dan.......Tomorrow would be nice , but apparently the orange & black forgot that SD has their number this year. Giant bats need to stand up and be counted. There is still the playoff game in SD if they lose tomorrow, with Lincecum on the hill for the Gs. Down to the wire.
