Jazel has yet to fill out a bio.
Well, I'd have to go with Barcelona 2010-2011, but that would be a little biased. I guess maybe this season's Bayern Munich if they actually finish the job this time and keep going for a while. I'll be rooting for Dortmund, obviously, even though I have nothing against Bayern.
As good as Messi and Ronaldo? No. But I'm sure Dave would argue to death about Gotze and Reus being on the same level, etc.
As good of those teams are, I still think Barcelona and Madrid's problems this season made them seem better than they actually are. I mean, if Arsenal and BATE Borisov can defeat Bayern, maybe they are not that unstoppable. They just caught Barcelona at the best possible time: horrible defense all season, questionable coaching, poor scoring support for Messi, Messi's injury, and the famous midfield trio of Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquets not being able to control the game against the physically powerful and skillful Germans. We should have all seen that trashing coming, except I had hoped that Barcelona's possession could at least limit some of the damage. Never happened.
Likewise, I think Mourinho also dropped the ball with his coaching and some of the players failed to step up, yet they still had Dortmund cornered and about to deliver the KO blow when the 12th round bell sounded. Malaga also had them on the ropes, so if Malaga can play them that well, I think it's obvious that Madrid's failure in the first leg came down to tactical mistakes, which is unexpected of Mourinho.
Thanks man, appreciate it but personally I prefer Mourinho over Pellegrini. Pellegrini did not make it past the UCL 16, and that was Higuain's best season, lost 4-0 to Alcoron, and did not even look like beating Barca, the game at the Bernabeu was completely dominated by Barcelona. Mourinho has brought us to the UCL semi final 3 times, won La Liga, and figured out how to beat Barcelona even though this was a disappointing year.
I agree though that Mourinho has to get his act together and stop getting into fights with his own players. I would like to see Jese Rodriguez get some chances, and sign maybe a Galactico or two but choose him SMARTLY.
As for Barcelona, you guys will be fine, don't worry bringing in Hummels and Neymar, you guys are shaping up real nicely. I do believe Villanova isn't the best though, he doesn't apply any tactics just tells them to do what they did under Guardiola, I think for El Clasicos you guys should come up with some plan to try and stop Ronaldo because completely ignoring him isn't gonna do anything, the RM center backs are constantly keeping an eye on Messi.
BTW congragulations on La Liga your consistency is incredible this season! Oh and another question: Which team is strongest? Barcelona in 2010-11, Real Madrid in 2011-12, or Bayern Munich in 2012-13? And Is there anyone on Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund as good as Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? BEcause apparently Dave Kuhn thinks so
Thanks for the comment it cheered me up :)
Wow, if anyone is ever depressed thats me right now
Viva el Atletico!!!! Thanks so much, Jazel! Congrats on the league title!
Tito has lost the battle of discipline the team. Im afraid its only downhill from here. Rijkaard all over again. But im still giving him the benefit of the doubt because of his illness.
I just saw this :/
Yeah that was a pretty crazy tie, I must admit though I've never seen Barca hold the ball as much as they did in that tie. Especially in the 2nd half of the 2nd leg it was ridiculous. The only 10% possession that Chelsea had were all Cech when he saved shots, he saved so many it counted for all of their possession! I do not know how Ramires just sprinted through the entire back line but the one flaw I give to Barca is that they NEVER go defensive, they have too much pride. For example, if you remember the 2nd leg at the Camp Nou in the Copa Del Rey it was 2-2 even then Barca didn't defend when Barca were close to conceding that third goal, but thats just how Guardiola, and now Villanova, plays. They are a prideful club.
And thank you for acknowledging this, see I thought that Barcelona fans thought that since Madrid never get the ball, they are no threat and since they have had the better record (Barcelona) I thought Barca fans thought that it would be an easy 3-0 win. Since your a Barca fan, you probably enjoy an El Clasico better than I do, because about 75% of the time Barca has the ball and every single second I have butterflys in my stomach, whereas Madrid gets the ball for 5 seconds then usually concede possession again and then Barca has it for another 5 minutes. For example, in the final league clasico last year at the Camp Nou I was looking forward to it all week but once the game started I was REALLY nervous when Barca had the ball, when Xavi had that chance my heart pounded so much.
Don't worry, Barca still has that "pizzazz" as I still get nervous whenever they get the ball, even more nervous than when Bayern or Dortmund had it. When Xavi, Iniesta, and Messi get the ball I freak out that they are gonna do an amazing through ball and put them through 1 on 1. Honestly (Don't tell the Barca players or they will do this more often) I am probably the most scared when they do little one-touch combinations in the penalty area and do sick back-heel passes. I also get scared Messi is gonna juke out everyone and score.
And Angel Di Maria, if I was voting against him I would be really scared because he is so agile and has good vision, and sick dribbling, do you fear him? And how do you fear Benzema? He can't put the ball into the back of the net, remember the 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu?
Lastly, I just wanna point out how mad I am when Barca dominates possession in the Bernabeu by a huge margin, I feel that since we are at home we should be the ones in control, regardless of the opponent.
Hey, no wonder you have 28 fans, your great to talk to!! Even answering my stupid questions, thanks man. So a German Bar for the Champions League final? Wear your Barca jersey it will be hilarious, I'll wear my Madrid one (sorry for eavesdropping)
Probably not lol. Knowing how the F.O.B. Bayern fans are, that is. but hey, there's nothing wrong with showing some club pride though.
Yeah I have to admit I was one of those guys, I really thought that Barca were going to sweep apart Chelsea, I was blind I didn't give Chelsea a chance until Messi missed that penalty. I thought Madrid would beat Bayern relatively comfortably, but not as much as I though Barca would beat Chelsea.
Unlucky! Thats what that game at Stanford Bridge was I remember watching it in disbelief, especially when Pedro hit the post in the last second.
I'm sorry I just have one more stupid question. Do you ever fear Madrid at all? Like before a game or when they have the ball during a game? Ever? Cause as a Madrid fan, I always fear Barca. For the semi final draw, I thought Barca would be the worst draw and whenever they have the ball, I'm scared to death! The only time I wasn't scared was in the second leg of the Copa Del Rey when we were up 3-0 in the 80th minute and Barca needed four goals to progress. But I always fear Barca regardless of the form they are in, but do you ever fear Madrid? Like is Madrid a nervous game for you guys or are we just like any La Liga game and you
I'm doing the same, just getting ready for school again..
Ready for the UCL final?
