No one's going to become a better writer if they're not critiqued. We're not in second grade Stoker. I don't care if the article was unedited, you're suppose to do a lot of editing before the article is published in the first place.

In reality I would rather see Dana leave the UFC than George. I gripe a lot about the UFC but the sense of familiarity I have with their productions would make it hard for me to watch Georges go with someone else. I just wish that Dana wasn't so unreasonable. He sure isn't a dick with Chuck Liddell or Matt Hughes. I am getting used to the young guys hating on my opinions. Tonight one of the reasons for my dissatisfaction with the fights had to do with my son and grandson smarting off all through the whole event. It was hard to concentrate, hear anything, and get the little ones to sleep so they can go to church.

I edited your article just now. Technically, Irvin was on Oxymorphone, not Oxycontin. The former is several times stronger than morphine and about twice as strong as Oxycontin, from what I've read. But he did sustain a broken foot, so that was probably the main reason why he was on those narcotics (he must have known they were illegal though).

Yeah, renting the old UFC videos was how I became interested in the sport as well. The PRIDE FC game for PlayStation 2 also got me hooked. I remember the first time I saw the UFC on TSN several years ago. It was a surreal experience.

Yeah, I'll edit your articles. Of course Mir can win, but I think Nog will play it smart and avoid going to the ground until later on in the fight when Mir gets tired. In the past Mir has shown that his cardio is not that great (see the Freeman and Sims fights), and almost all of his wins come in the first round. But yeah he looks to be fully recovered from his accident.

Nog should outlast him and then finish the fight in the later rounds. Nobody has subbed Nog, not even Fedor. Nog is no Lesnar or Hardonk when it comes to the ground game, and Mir has his work cut out for him. At least Mir has a job as a commentator to fall back on :)

By the way, where in Canada are you from? I'm in Hamilton right now. I liked your Cote article, but I actually feel bad for him because he has to face Anderson next. He should last longer than Irvin though.

Mir vs. Nog will be happening sometime in December, after the Ultimate Fighter 8 (they're the coaches on the show). I think that Nog will keep the fight on the feet and outstrike Mir. After a couple rounds, Mir will gas, and then Nog will move in for the finish.

Even if Mir takes Nog down, I doubt he can do anything substantial from the top position. Mir has a dangerous guard, but Nog has some of the best jiu-jitsu in MMA, and I don't think he will get subbed. I think Nog will win via TKO in the second or third round. Mir isn't ready for someone of Nog's caliber.

I think the show will be more entertaining than the actual fight. Nog brought in Anderson Silva and Lyoto Macida to train with his team. Those guys are really lucky. The show debuts on September 17.

My source (Fightsport.fr) did not list an actual date, it just said that Fedor will fight Arlovski in either November or October. MMAmania. is listing the date as October 11 in Vegas. That's UFC territory! I wonder what Dana thinks of this. It ought to be another great card for Affliction.
