My name is Brandon Moor. I am 27 and married to a woman who loves sports as much as I do and she isn't afraid to sit down anytime and watch an entire Boston Red Sox game on television. I attended Hutchinson Community College and graduated with an Associates Degree in Fire Science Technology, in other words, I was a firefighter for some period of time.
How did I get into sports writing? Well, writing started off as hobby during a jobless layoff time frame while taking baseball scouting courses and writing up scouting reports. Since I was no longer eligible for anymore financial aid, I did the best I could with what I had to work with. For months I researched sports jounalism and began dabbling in writing articles on whatever sports and sporting events had been going on at the time.
Finally on July 21, 2010, Bleacher Report published my first article titled "Rattled on the West Coast." From that point forward I haven't looked back. A short time later I became a Sydicated Writer and in the weeks leading up to college football season I became a Featured Columnist for Boise State Broncos' Football.
My near year long jobless bout ended on September 9 as I landed two jobs in the same day. That night, Sports Editor for the Emporia Gazette called offer me an entry level writing postion where I will initially take calls from Emporia area hight school football coaches for statistics columns in the Emporia paper.
