Well, I've returned to sportswriting after a few years hiatus, and after looking at some of my older work (done when I was about 15-16) I hope I can do much better. Over the past year or so I have come to embrace the sabermetric side of baseball, which has really freed my mind and changed my thinking about the game that I love so much. Having said that, actually playing the game is one of my greatest pleasures, and I am fortunate to have that in my life.
Sadly I am cut off from Mariners tv broadcasts here in Victoria, though I do enjoy watching the Blue Jays attempt to take down my hated rival team, the Red Sox. I hope to contribute what I can to the Mariners blogosphere, in the hopes that my fellow Mariners fans will be more enlightened about our game.
My best article yet:
Please read my article about A-Rod's perfect brand new name.
I'd appreciate it if you'd leave a comment.
Thanks for standing up for me.
And do not worry, NYC jews love baseball, and the planets best team the Yankees!
Hey, this is Shanan. We have exchanged some comments before, and I like your writing. I fanned you!
Talk to you later
No one in the O's clubhouse misses Bedard...cancer. Ship him to the Jays, they've got some goods and they think they'll be a winner next year...suckers.
OK, the M's had a miserable season, I'm an Oriole fan...we have to take what we get under the circumstances.
What Ichiro has accomplished is amazing, simply amazing. When the M's come to Balmer I never miss a game because I can sneak down from 368 and watch this amazing man do amazing things with a stick of wood that very, very few could ever do. Enjoy him while you can Ben.
(So sorry about the Bedard deal...but thanks in advance!)
How 'bout Ichiro! 100 years is a long time to tie a record eh?
on 2nd thought 9 articles in 15 days is a lot. you should take some journalism classes in college, maybe get a concentration or minor in it. If you like to write, which by the looks you do, then it will be like doing no work at all.
Joel agrees! Anyhow Ben thanks for the feedback and comments, its always good to have the debate with fans to increase the awareness. Youre a pitcher? I was an all star catcher and blew my rotator cuff out in hockey my fresh yr college - off to the military after that. I came in for relief too.
It is great to see the love of the game in here.
My fiance works with Joe Saunders mother up in MD, north of DC. We're supposed to meet him after the season, and we're planning an exclusive in the near future-when he is available.
Write some more stuff up dude. Thats good stuff, and it doesnt matter if people agree or not, just be informative and open to deabte. embed some links in your articles to show your research or back your position up - and have fun.
