Peter's Bio

Peter Wright is an avid sports fan. Especially English football and hockey. He is originally from Illinois and is an avid fan of the Chicago sports scene. He is a fan of the Bears, Cubs and Blackhawks. On the English Football front, there are 2 teams who Peter roots for...Manchester City...the other team? Anyone playing against Manchester United. He also is a fan of the college hockey scene as well, following the Denver Pioneers and fondly remembering the NCAA Championship seasons of 2004 and 2005. All while the arch-rival Colorado College Tigers have won non since 1957. Even Manchester City has won trophies since then!!!

Peter is active in health and fitness and also is an ardent student of American history, most notably world war 1. He is also an avid fan of music, mostly the music of The Beatles and Oasis.

  4. Hey. I recently revised one of my very first articles. It was on the Man City takeover and was published about 6 months ago. After reading it, though, it still seems relevant today and a couple of my predictions have come true.

It's a very, very, very long article but I'd appreciate it if you gave it a look over and maybe post a comment.

    Take care mate. Cheers.

  7. Hi,
I've put a couple of articles up. One is on the managerial situation at Blackburn. The other is continuing my series of studying cult heroes at clubs, this next piece is on Man City legend Colin Bell.
    Have a look and comment

  8. Hi,
I've had quite a productive day on Bleacher! Written two editorial articles, and started a new series called Cult Heroes - which profiles past heroes of clubs, illustrating why they are so popular. First piece focuses on Arsenal legend Tony Adams.
    I hope you'll have a read!
    Alex

  9. Hey Peter,

Thanks for the kind words mate. Believe it or not, not all United fans are arrogant and biased although we do seem to be growing in numbers since we grabbed a few trophies last year! :)

I hope you enjoyed the Man City article and I always try to remain unbiased and fair. End of the day, football is something to be analysed and enjoyed equally and I dont see why we cant appreciate another teams fortunes, no matter who they are.

I hope to hear more from you and enjoy a few debates over our teams through-out the season.
    All the best,

    Keith

  10. Hey Peter,

Thanks for adding me as a fan and thanks for choosing my article :)

  11. Sorry Peter, bit absent-minded when I wrote the date.

But many other clubs have faced similar problems — for one, Palace also nearly went out of existence in 2001, only saved in the last minute by Dougie Freedman's goal that kept us from certain relegation and liquidation.

We played that season with a different sponsor every week (one week we had a man and his wife sponsor the shirts) because we desperately needed money but could not find any 'proper' businesses prepared to take a chance on us. You know you're in trouble when you've got "Janet's Groceries" on the tops.

I don't want to disparage the troubles that City have faced, but I just don't want you to think that it is any worse than many other clubs in the football league. What about Luton, for example, or Swindon — both clubs that have faced difficulties very recently. I am sure almost every club in the football league could come up with a solid sob story.

I hope I didn't sound abrasive, but having to read RepublikofMancunia's biased and frankly illogical rants about why United are the most honest club in the world and every other club/manager/player is hypocritical often really get on my wick, and so recently I seem to leap on every 'general' statement (like yours) that I see.

    If that makes any sense.

Anyway — I hope City stuff United today!

  12. Cheers for the add Peter.
