As a fan and follower of the NBA I'm a relative newcomer seeing as I've only followed it since the start of the 2009 season. I think that gives me a very modernistic view of the sport; I'm the first to admit, I didn't grow up watching Jordan or remember Bill Russell playing, I grew up in suburban England and if that invalidates my views and opinions then so be it but I think that I've come to the sport at an age (22) where I can analyse without idolising. You could say I'm not caught up in the past...
