Honestly, our main problem is coaching. Tata isn't nearly the coach he promised to be. We need to sign a CB but we could easily play Bartra instead of letting our defense suck. We need to play Alba and Alves in different games instead of starting them for every game because they're the biggest names. We need to stop letting Alexis Sanchez fool everyone into thinking he's good by scoring hat tricks against the shittiest teams in the league. Right now the team is in poor form and that's because we're stuck with the "On fire" Pedro and Alexis as our only options up front. Neymar's absence hurts us more than Messi's, as the other wingers relax and stop caring without Neymar, while they make a visible effort to step it up with Messi out.
We could probably use more depth up front and in our midfield, but I honestly believe we'll be fine. Deulofeu and Adama are both going to be world class, especially if we can get rid of Alexis and/or Pedro. Tello is almost certainly headed out, so there's no point mentioning him. In our midfield we have the usual center mids, but Rafinha is showing he could be as much a gem as his brother, and if that doesn't work out, I know a certain Dennis Suarez who is doing very well at Barca B this season.
Hell, even on defense, I think we're fine. Mascherano is a good CB when playing against certain teams. He does incredibly well against Atletico Madrid, but when faced with speedy and/or tricky players he crumbles instantly, even when one of said players is nowhere near him. If we used Bartra and Pique as our starting CB duo and played Mascherano in the simpler games with Puyol getting intermittent times out we'd be much more solid in the back. I'm not saying we'd be the best defense in Europe, but we'd be solid.
But every year we turn into Madrid more and more, so expect to see Luiz, a 9, a couple of midfielders, another CB, and ter Stegen bought this summer.
I am man! How have you been lately?
Well, Tonny has left the building. Kid is going to cost us 40m a few years from now, I can see it.
One of the craziest league in world football lol.
Hope..UEFA, give them a guaranteed place in the Champions League. haha
I think Eder is a very powerful CB, good pace with the better than average passing and technical ability that is the staple of most Colombian players. He has a good shot at the Colombian National team for the world cup which might take 4 CB's, with Cristian Zapata, Carlos Valdes and Mario Yepes as the top picks.
The other possibility is that Peckerman calls the 4 starters plus 1 CB, 1RB and 1 LB in that case Balanta would have much harder time getting on the team.
Sorry for the long heavy text, I hope this was helpful, don't forget to hit me up anytime you need anything.
Hey David, first I have to admit, I've never seen Balanta, but the other two I know plenty about.
Let's start with Dedé, he is pretty strong, tall and hard to beat in the air, he's not very fast(unlike his FIFA 13 Card) but most CB's aren't so it's not such a problem, he was incredible during his first years at Vasco becoming captain at such a young age, after that he went downhill, after getting back from injury he couldn't find form and was not the dominant CB everybody knew, he went to a Cruzeiro who was starting from almost zero with new players, at first Dedé was alright but very prone to mistakes( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-UqUAnGcFo ) these are videos of them, as the championship went on his form picked up and he was one if not the best CB of the league, not sure if he is good enough for a top european club like Barcelona, but hey he's better than Mascherano.
Dória is a good young but I personally don't think all the hype is justified, maybe he'll prove me wrong though, he's a smarter player than Dedé but not as imposing phisically, Botafogo's defence wasn't very solid but he was their best defensive player by some distance.
It might be rather biased as he plays for my team, but that means I watched almost all of his games in the Brasileirão, Rodrigo Caio is a ball playing CB because he started at DM and played RB a few times, his position is not fully sorted out but I see his future in the centre of defence, he is very good in the air, not very tall(1.82) but can jump a lot and is a great header(similar to Puyol in that matter), he can tackle well and doesn't make many mistakes, two come to my mind, a naive penaly in the edge of the box and a goal he gave away trying to make a pass, not quite on the level of Dedé because he's 4 years younger but I think he's already better than Dória and will be better than Dedé.
deulofeu probably has a better chance.
denis suarez on the other hand.. its gonna be a tough year for him next season.. especially since he's an AM... he'll be better served trying to convert to perhaps a CM.. otherwise idk if he has a starter's future with us.
suarez probably will play 2 games the whole season next year.. i mean look at sergi roberto right now he just started getting his chances and rather than play him sometimes, tata would rather play song at CM..
So remember when I said something along the lines of "Watch Tata start Neymar/Iniesta/Pedro/Mascherano/etc" in the second leg?
Yeah... he actually did it. I bet it's killing him to have to play Montoya, lol.
