Alan's Bio

Hi there, I'm Alan and I'm the Chelsea Community Co-Leader alongside Salomon Gonzales.

I'm 19 and a die-hard Chelsea fan and season ticket holder (I sit in the West Lower) from London.

I'm currently studying Journalism at the University of Kent, and loving student life.

My ambition is to become a journalist and writing on this site combines two of my passions: football and writing. I discovered this site via an advertisement on Facebook last summer and I'm glad I took the time to sign up.

I mainly write articles about Chelsea, but also occasionally on other Premier League teams. With qualification for the 2010 World Cup under way, I'll also be writing some articles on the Republic of Ireland and their quest to reach South Africa.

At the moment I'm finding my time to write articles cut short by University commitments, but I'll try to contribute when I can.

My first Chelsea game was on 28th October 1998 against Aston Villa, a game which Chelsea won 4-1 and John Terry made his first team debut. My favourite Chelsea memory is seeing the club win the Premiership in 2005, something which I never thought I'd see the club do.

Its hard to pick my favourite game I've been to, but three stand out: the 4-4 draw with Liverpool in the Champions League Quarter Finals last season, the 3-2 Semi Final Second Leg the season before, and the 2-1 victory over Valencia at the Mestalla in 2007.

My worst nights as a Chelsea fan were at Anfield when we lost on penalties in 2007 and in Moscow last year.

I have my own website and blog where I post my work: http://alanmcguinness.com.
