Missing your articles. Have you stopped writing on here?
So a glorious return for week one or have ye, like old Bitter Bierce, made your way to Mexico?
"Good-bye — if you hear of my being stood up against a Mexican stone wall and shot to rags please know that I think that a pretty good way to depart this life. It beats old age, disease, or falling down the cellar stars. To be a Gringo in Mexico — ah, that is euthanasia!"
Hope all is well....
RE: Colavito, one of the very first baseball cards that I fell in like with. As soon as I made some money I bought 10 of 'em.
The Flock boys were the "enemy" back in the day, 'Bama boys come to take Carolina money. They can't be in my favorites, what would my folks say? It's bad enough that I'm a Pearson fan.
Sir, are your quills sharpened for the coming season? Actually, I've been bitten by the fountain pen bug, perhaps to the point of obsession. 1950s Esterbrook pens with a medium nib, some good ink, and a fine, high-cotton content paper; there're few things like it. Too bad we are chained to the keyboard these days. Makes writers less contemplative. Other writers, that is. You and I are exempt from this.
Be well, sir.
p.s. No, no; I'm completely sober.
Thanks for the kind words again, my friend. Best to you and yours...
I'll get back to you on the Old Bay deal... it's a closely guarded secret.
Then there's a seafood boil blend called J.O., same theory, but different blend ratios, higher salt content, preferred over Old Bay by commercial cookers.
I respect Tim Flock and his skill set, but he was the original Alabama Gang interloper in my day, Carolina boys tended to stick together back in the day.
Dick Hutcherson... now there's a Top 5 % record to envy.

This fellow might be the best pro football scribe but at the bottom of this read he has an interesting section on what a college playoffs circa 1978 would have looked like...
Hilarious how you say Independents are the best "Conference" certaintly always have had respect for the Independents.
