About

I'm a B/R Front Page Editor.

I live in St. Petersburg, where I did the whole college thing at the University of South Florida.

I'm a fan of the Buccaneers, the Rays, the USF Bulls (the alma mater) and the New York Mets (it was my mom's idea). I love the NBA more every day, but the lack of a local franchise makes me forget that sometimes.

I'm one of those Americans that just doesn't get soccer, although the World Cup is pretty gripping, and NASCAR bores me.

Word.

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

    Ronde Barber, Evan Longoria

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays, New York Mets, Orlando Magic, Tampa Bay Lightning

  • Favorite Coaches

    Joe Maddon

  • All Time Sports Moment

Buccaneers intercept Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon five times in Super Bowl XXXVII rout.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Tampa Bay Rays come back from the dead vs. the Yankees as Longoria blasts two homers—one in extra innings—to complete the greatest September comeback in baseball history. David Price poured champagne over my head in the locker room afterwards. You can't make this stuff up.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Cal Ripken Jr. and his 2,632 consecutive games played. There are a number of other records from different eras (e.g. Cy Young's 511 wins) that will never be broken; however, the reason is because the game has changed. No matter what the game, regardless of the era, it's likely we will never see Ripken's milestone surpassed.

    Willie Mays

  • Unitas or Montana?

    Johnny Unitas

  • Jordan or Russell?

    Michael Jordan

  • Gretzky or Orr?

    Wayne Gretzky

  • Schumacher or Senna?

Hey Paul... just a quick question... you said you took out my reference to Erik Walden's legal issue because it wasn't pertinent. I was wondering why, because it is something current that should be mentioned, don't you think???

    Thanks for the edits!

Thanks for catching the spelling on Cespedes' first name. The report I read on MLB Trade Rumors spelled it the way I had it but I see now in other reports that it did have two "n's". Appreciate it.

BTW, Paul. Could I get an edit on my featured article from this morning? The other was something I threw in when I saw it tweeted, but my featured article has yet to be edited. Thanks in advance.
