Paul's Bio
Is it better to be loved than to be feared, or the contrary. I reply that one should like to be both one and the other: but since it is difficult to join them together, it is much safer to be feared than to be loved when one of the two must be lacking. For one can generally say this about men: that they are ungrateful, fickle, simulators and deceivers, avoiders of danger, greedy for gain; and while you work for their good they are completely yours, offering you their blood, their property, their lives, and their sons, when danger is far away; but when it comes nearer to you they turn away. And that prince who bases his power entirely on their words, finding himself stripped of other preparations, comes to ruin; for friendships that are acquired by a price and not by greatness and nobility of character are purchased but are not owned, and men are less hesitant about harming someone who makes himself loved than one who makes himself feared because love is held together by a chain of obligations which, since men are a sorry lot, is broken on every occasion in which their own self-interest is concerned; but fear is held together by dread of punishment which will never abandon you.

I didn't even know they pulled my Pacino pic of my profile. Thanks for letting me know. As far as the Kitna/Henry move I'm just as dumbfounded as you were when i heard that. Yeah Kitna is an upgrade over Johnson but for Anthony Henry. Are we single handedly helping the Lions get better?

TO was an eventuality. You knew it, I knew...every fucking cowboys fan knew it was just a matter of when. Adam Jones is an amazing talent. But he just doesn't give a shit. You aren't given as many chances as he was. And he still fucked it up man. He got into a fight with Jerry's fucking bodyguards all over him. In a posh Dallas hotel. When you know that the fucking NFL Commissioner is watching your every move like a guy watches his date on prom night...I commend Jerry for what he;s done so far in the offseason.
He's had to eat a lot of shit. But at least he's willing to admit his mistakes, which he was unwilling to do 10 years ago....lest we forget Joey Galloway (who's now a fucking PAT) for 2 FUCKING FIRST ROUND PICKS...jesus....lookit my friend...this is how I see it..the way that so called team, layed down an got fucked by filthy 44-6......i dont think i'll ever forget that score as long as I lived...that was basically a playoff game and they couldn't have cared less...yes there were players to blame and they've been dealt with BUT and I know you agree the coaching problem still eminates like a piece of shit.......
I just dont think that fucking hillbilly can lead a SUper Bowl team....he's a good man and I respect him as a man but as a head coach...NOT A DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR...he's not cut out to be that kind of coach....only time will tell right?
Damn....I can't wait for the draft
Talk soon...

Couldn't agree more. We definitely need to have our Arizona rally caps on for the Super Bowl. This is when you know things are bad...the Arizona f'ing Cardinals are going to the Super Bowl. Meanwhile Dallas can't win a playoff game.

This is a poorly coached team. They play sloppy football. There is no accountability. There are too many excuses. let's just face the fact here...this is just NOT A GOOD FUCKING FOOTBALL TEAM. THEY SUCK AND HAVE NO MOTHERFUCKING HEART. THAT'S IT.
And now we have to call into question Tony Romo's ability to win a big game. I've always hated when writers and broadcasters like to call a certain QB here and there a "can't win the big game" type of QB. But after today, how can you dispute Tony Romo's numbers in December and January since he's been the starter? 5 TD passes and 20 INTs. That's not a fucking misprint.
Everyone has to be held accountable for this crap. Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett (you think he wants a do over on turning down those Baltimore and Atlanta jobs?), Wade Phillips, Tony Romo (is he the head coach or is Wade?), that overpayed piece of crap defense. This looked like a Week 1 fucking football team. They looked like they had no idea what was going on on the field. Okay...maybe that flies against Baltimore but 2 weeks in a row?
There is something wrong with this team. They don't get upset when they make mistakes. They don't get upset when they lose. And that goes to that fucking hillbilly they have as a coach. And to lay down and die the way they did today makes me pissed off and curious. Pissed off because no one seemed to care and curious since no coach on that sideline got in someone's face today. Fucking Oakland played harder then the Cowboys did today. OAKLAND! And they had nothing to play for.
What a waste of time and emotion this 2008 Dallas Cowboys team was.

I've heard that Jerry said that no decisions will be made until after the season. Basically if they lose Sunday, that hillbilly is gone. If they can win Sunday and beat a bad NFC North team, which they can, then I think he'll be safe. At least they'll have no one to point fingers at except themselves if they don't win. I don't know why but I think they'll pull it out. I've already come to terms with things if they don't. The way this season has gone, nothing would surprise me.

I don't know if it's good or bad but this crappy team still controls its own destiny. Win at Filthy this week and we play the NFC North winner it looks like. I'm not counting on it but they were given life today thanks to Filthy and Tampa Bay both losing. At least this way, there'll be no one to blame but themselves. That was a horrible way to close out Texas Stadium though.

This one hurt for sure. I'm still recovering. Sad to say but they don't have the killer instinct. they'll never have it while that fucking hillbilly is coach. Now they have to win all three of their remaining games or that's it. At least we'll see what they have between the legs Sunday night. From here on out, every game is a playoff game.
things are okay. I've had a temp job for a month and it looks like I'll have it for another week so for right now I'm scraping by which is good enough. I do miss writing though. There's juts no way I would have been able to devote the kind of time necessary to do all my articles right now. Not unless there was some pay in it. Hopefully next season things will have stabilized on my end and I can get back into the game. Glad that we've been able to keep in contact Paul. You're one of my most loyal readers and I really appreciate it. Take care and we'll talk after Sunday night.

I wish i had your confidence. This is going to be a tough game but I think if ever there was a time for Romo to show that he can win big games, it's now. After looking at the standings, I agree that 10-6 might not be enough. We need Tampa, Carolina and especially Atlanta to start losing. Thank god Tampa and Carolina play each other Monday night. really this game comes down to Demarcus Ware and how healthy he'll be and how effective he can be. If we can force Ben to make poor decisions as he is want to do and put pressure on their mediocre offensive line, then we have an excellent chance. 3-1 is probably the only way we'll get in. I haven't been this excited and nervous about a regular season game since the Patriots last season.

Well, we got what we wanted. 8-4 with a nice ten day rest and then see how we match up with the best defense in football. I'm not expecting a win, although that would be nice, but a solid effort nonetheless. As long as we go 2-2 in December at the very worst, we should be in the playoffs. Now this team has to shed its annual December choke job and play its best football. Hope your Thanksgiving went well. Talk soon.
To be honest, I wasn't worried about the Seahawks in the least. That team quit on Holmgren weeks ago.

Sorry it took a while...I've been working temp jobs the last few weeks so i'm staying afloat for the time being...well it wasn't an annihilation but a win is a win...hopefully they can take the confidence from this win and use it to take care of business against San Fran. and Seattle...that would put us at 8-4 going into the Pittsburgh game Dec. 7. Then we'll see how good we are. At the very least even if they go 2-2 in December that will give us 10 wins which should be enough for a wildcard. At least there's something to root for this season. Hope you're well.

It's a done deal. This team just isn't that good. What happened today is an indictment of this team and its lack of accountability. Wade Phillips needs to be fired NOW. Let's see what Garrett can do with this mess but this team has ZERO IDENTITY with Wade as head coach. In their last 12 games they are 6-6. Call them what they are...an underachieving mediocre football squad.
They're not even good enough to call them a team. They snipe at each other on the sidelines and refuse to take ANY RESPONSIBILITY for their piss poor play. Keeping Wade on any longer is a detriment to this organization. He needs to go right fucking now.

At least now, the expectations are lowered. No Romo for a month, no Felix Jones for 2 weeks and worse...no McBriar for 2 months. If they can realistically win the Rams and Bucs game...they'll get massacred by the Giants in the Meadowlands...and get him back after the bye week for the Redskins game and we're 6-3, there is still a chance for this season. But that's a big if....for christ sakes we got a 40 year old QB with an exposed o line...it's gonna be difficult...I wouldn't be surprised if Johnson gets knocked out by the Rams and we get to see Bollinger.

That game made me throw up. of course I was still drunk from the Texas/OU game but that's another matter. That was the worst football I've seen the Cowboys play since Romo's first game when he relieved Bledsoe in that Monday nighter against the Giants two years ago. Two TDs given up on special teams? Gotta love that so called secondary. I just can't get enough of Anthony Henry and Adam Jones getting burned. This is what really astounded me though... Cowboys had 64 offensive plays. On 19 of those Romo was knocked down. The offensive line got manhandled by a bunch of nobodys. I don't know what the hell Wade Phillips is doing but this team hasn't shown any urgency in three weeks now. The more I watch him on the sidelines, the more of a buffoon he looks like.
This team acts like they're winners when they haven't won jack shit. They keep this up and they won't even make the goddamn playoffs. I can't believe this.

I'm not gonna get into what I think of this whole Pac Man incident but at least he'll be out there. Honestly I don't think defenses are gonna matter much in this game. It's gonna be a shootout like the Monday night game against Filthy in week 2. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Kurt Warner is the NFC's number 1 rated QB. Our pass rush needs to announce their presence in the form of multiple concussions.

Unfortunately we're stuck with him for the rest of this year. I've never been more discouraged after a win in my life. It was this game that finally cemented the fact that the Cowboys cannot win a Super Bowl with Wade Phillips as head coach. There was no reason for the Bengals coming back other than the fact that the Cowboys have no killer instinct much like their coach. You hear that cliche that a team usually follows the personality of their coach. This would be why the cliche is true. But 4-1 aftre five games is still 4-1. With Arizona, St. Louis and Tampa coming up, anything less than 7-1 at the midway point of the season is inexcusable.
Take care
