About Shaun »

BR Readers,

You know those stereotypes most people have about a Canadian? Loves hockey. Loves beer. Loves maple syrup?

Yeah, that's me.

What separates me from other/most Canadians is my unflinching love for the Detroit Red Wings that began when I was just a kid, when I had the honor of meeting Mr.Hockey himself. My grandfather had told me all about Gordie Howe and how he had the "sharpest elbows in the league" as he put it. After Gordie signed my Red Wings banner I was a fan for life.

I'm looking forward to reading everyone's articles as well as getting feedback on my own.

Cheers,

Shaun

Np. It is a great article and slide show.
Did you know that the Red Wings have had the most wins, the most points, the most goals scored, the biggest differential in goals scored to goals allowed in the regular season in the nineties. They have had the most wins, the most goals scored, and tied for the most Stanley Cups in the playoffs in the nineties. They have had the most wins, the most points, the most gooas scored and the fewest goals allowed in the regular season so far in the new millennium. They have the most wins, the most goals and are tied for the most Stanley Cups in the playoffs so far this millennium. They have made the playoffs !8consecutive times.. I an proud of them for coming within one game of a repeat and had Hossa not been injured and managed to score at least a goal in the series we would probably be going for a 3-peat this year but injuries are part of the game and Pittsburgh battled hard.

Thanks for the response for the Jets piece Shaun. That's the risk I was willing to take to get those negative feedbacks from passionate and sometimes ridiculous Jets fans. But it's the sad reality since the Jets left, not everyone lets go.

Good stuff on the Wings. Great team, hopefully they keep it going.

Before you completely disregard my response to your comment, just know that I do agree.

I don't know where the Hell Bobby Holik came from, and to be honest, I can't stand Leafs fans who take everything as a slight to the franchise and all of the sudden get defensive—the fact that we begin to fabricate phrases such as calling Sundin "garbage" which didn't appear in your comment....I'm confounded.

Also, you're right in pointing out cups—I'm still undecided as to whether Sundin is the greatest or not, but if you're to make that argument, a lack of cup comes into the conversation.

And as for Ms. whatsherface—apparently arguments such as this go no deeper than stats (which Dave Keon doesn't rank anywhere in the top 50 of the NHL—oh shucks I guess he's terrible).

Anyways, I'd like to welcome you to Bleacher Report—I'm one of the NHL Community leaders here. Hopefully you haven't been scared off by the whole "dont post those things here" comments, which is a complete lie—we welcome differences of opinion as we want to reach as many people as possible.

Anyhow Shaun, thanks for bringing a different perspective to the conversation, despite the difficulties you encountered from some other members! I look forward to reading some of your work.

Welcome to the team,

BT
