Dave's Bio

Dave is a lifelong sports fan, burrito connoisseur, and founder of Bleacher Report. Growing up in Northern California, Dave became an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco 49ers, Golden State Warriors, and San Jose Sharks. He played high school football for the division champion Menlo Knights but retired after 2 concussions as a 160 lb defensive end.

Dave matriculated at the University of Southern California around the same time Pete Carroll started coaching, and soon thereafter the Trojans won multiple National Championships. However, Carroll and the Trojans haven't won any championships since Dave graduated. Coincidence?

Dave's many brushes with greatness include taking an improv acting class with Mike Williams, Frostee Rucker, and Steve Smith, multiple run-ins with Ted Danson, partying with "Superfreak" Rick James, and an ongoing feud with former Baltimore Orioles outfielder Brady Anderson. He plans to reveal the details of said sordid affair in his upcoming tell-all book "Water-Drinker: The Brady Anderson Story".

Dave started Bleacher Report because he believes that fans are the most qualified group to analyze their teams because of their unmatched passion and immense knowledge. He is thrilled beyond words at how much the site has grown, and loves reading analysis on his favorite teams by all the Bleacher Report writers that cover them.

    Thanks for the great comments, Dave, and for making me a favorite. Sorry about the Sharks. They played their hearts out last night and deserved to go seven. I had Nabakov and Thornton on my fanatasy team this year so I've been rooting.

    Hey Dave, I was wondering about the photo selection of the site and if we have permission to use copyrighted pictures off wires, like from the AP or Getty. Even if we do, the passwords I know on how to get into the sites come from the internship I worked at and I probably don't even have permission to use those.

    I just ask because I think it would be cool to use in-game pictures for some of the game stories, especially if you want to get pictures of players from both teams in the image. I'm just unsure as to what BR's capabilities are...

    No, I actually did get the email, sorry. It just still hasn't worked. I've been attempting to upload jpgs, gifs, all acceptable stuff. I'll send you a couple examples just to see if you can figure it out. Thanks a lot for trying to help me out.
