Dave's Bio

Dave is a lifelong sports fan, burrito connoisseur, and founder of Bleacher Report. Growing up in Northern California, Dave became an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco 49ers, Golden State Warriors, and San Jose Sharks. He played high school football for the division champion Menlo Knights but retired after two concussions as a 160 lb defensive end.

Dave matriculated at the University of Southern California around the same time Pete Carroll started coaching, and soon thereafter the Trojans won multiple National Championships. However, Carroll and the Trojans haven't won any championships since Dave graduated. Coincidence?

Dave's many brushes with greatness include taking an improv acting class with Mike Williams, Frostee Rucker, and Steve Smith, multiple run-ins with Ted Danson, partying with "Superfreak" Rick James, and an ongoing feud with former Baltimore Orioles outfielder Brady Anderson. He plans to reveal the details of said sordid affair in his upcoming tell-all book "Water-Drinker: The Brady Anderson Story".

Dave started Bleacher Report because he believes that fans are the most qualified group to analyze their teams because of their unmatched passion and immense knowledge. He is thrilled beyond words at how much the site has grown, and loves reading analysis on his favorite teams by all the Bleacher Report writers that cover them.

  1. Hey Dave,

    Thanks for the pick!

  2. If you get a chance again this week:

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/65554-carrying-on-about-college-football-october-5-edition

    Thanks Dave!

  3. Thanks for the pick, Dave.

  4. Silly question....

Is there a "Poker" category? I was thinking about writing a strategy piece on poker, and I wanted to make sure that the proper tags and categories would be available.

    Thanks,
    Chris

  5. Hey Dave,
I really like the BR concept. You definately have a great start to a new "sports community"!
Props to Zander, Trey, Rory, and Scott! All have "welcomed" me into the BR community!
    BR feels like home!
Looking forward to helping you "Build" BleacherReport.com

  6. Thanks for taking the time and for the pick - it means a lot coming from you! Hope you get a chance to check out some of the other editions (published each Sunday night)...

  7. Thanks for all your work on B/R. If you get a chance to check out my weekly "Carrying On About College Football" sometime, that would be awesome! Thanks!

  8. Ha. My feud with Brady is one based on forearms. How do you get forearms that big, that fast?

You're spot on with the water.

  9. Dave, I was going to write a pretty negative comment on your "After Loss, USC OC Steve Sarkisian Demoted to Oakland Raiders Head Coach"

Especially knowing you're a niner fan. But the reality is Al has taken the once storied organization into the ground. Even fine wine turns to vinager if you let it go too long. And Al Davis fine vintage of awesome grape elixir has had an air leak in it for years now. Vinegar is getting stale. so ridicule is well deserved by this clown. How sad it is for me to say that dude, but DEMS DA FACTS!!

So really, as much as I dislike it I can't fault you for the hate. Many in The Nation are also very pissed off at Al's delusions sabotaging the team.

Plus you started the Bleachers report so that deserves props from me. As well as at least having the good seance to be an SC fan. I have a brother who also went there, fight on!!!

I'm still pissed at you but, I understand dude. looks like the niners seem to be getting their shit together at least. I'm not old school bay area rivalry crap so really that stuff is ridiculous to me.

I have developed eFriendships with many fans who traditionaly I would be rooting agsainst but because of this medeum I've been priveledged to get to know. (Glenn Franco Simmons) he's one of your niner boyz so when the niners do good I'm happy for him, he's a good man.

There is one clown who buzzes around the net annoying people, a child really. He's comic relief to me even though I feel kinda guilty with him because I really think he was an abused child, he lives in here dude. He has a viciousness to him that denotes severe personal and psychological issues

I mean he's obsessed with getting oneupmanship on everyone. Then dilutes himself by thinking he wins arguments when most people (Having a life) just ignore him or simply shoo him away from their lives... You know, just like you would a pest, a Nat or a mosquito...

Most people do this as entertainment, not a as a daily fix on bordom. There's just too much stuff to do in the day man.

Thanx for the Bleacher Report bro.

  10. Thanks for the pick for favorite article, Dave!

I just wanted you to know that I, too, share a feud with Brady Anderson. That. Is. Awesome!

  11. Hey Dave.
Thanks for the pick! Glad you enjoyed the article.

  12. OK, thanks.

  13. Hey Dave, I've been having a little problem with B/R lately.

No, it's not the new design, it's the fact that college football is getting more attention than the NFL. To illustrate my point, why is college ball listed before the NFL under the "Listings" (you know -- that little box under the day's featured article)?

    Who's in charge of that?!

  14. Hey whats up big dave? Its been a while.
