I was born and raised in southwest Virginia. I still live in the area with my wife and 3 kids and dont plan on leaving.
At around age 11 i was introduced to NASCAR. Every Sunday when we went to visit my grandparents, my grandpa was always listen to the Winston Cup races. Naturally i became a fan. I started pulling for Alan Kulwicki, yes it was beacause of the Hooters sponsership. After Alans death, I became a Bobby Labonte fan. Now I pull for Bobby and Ryan Newman.
About the same time I got into NASCAR I started playing sandlot football, so I started watching NFL. Instanlty I became a Raiders fan. I just loved thier swagger, dont worry folks, they have it back!
Even though I am from Hokie Nation, I have never really been a tech fan. I wasnt really a college football fan at all until a few years ago. I watched a Brad Smith led Misouri Tigers team face the Huskers, I was hooked on College football after that.
My other love is fishing. I used to tournament fish, but with marrage and kids that has gone away, but thats ok. Fishing tournaments took some of the fun away.
