Jay David commented on Jerry Sandusky Trial: Former Penn State Coach Granted Privilege to See Grandkids:
Actually, the way events are unfolding is not odd, it is predictable. While I am not defending Sandusky in any way, I am not going to...

Jay has yet to fill out a bio.
Hey Jay,
I wrote something after Joe Paterno passed with my thoughts about why it happened when it did. I would like to hear what your thoughts are on it. Thanks.

Jay-
I have found over the past month or so that I write best when I allow my heart to lead my head. Please check out my latest, I would be interested in any feedback you may have, or even anyone who would make your team. Thanks

Ok, I know that's completely your opinion, but I don't understand how you don't have Florida in any of those games. I would disagree if they weren't even in the national championship, but I really think it's ridiculous to not have them in even a single BCS bowl (especially after they're returning from a national championship season with nearly their whole team back). I don't know why everyone is getting so hyped up about LSU- they will have a pretty good rush defense, decent pass defense, and probably at least a decent rushing offense. But their QB is a HUGE question. Jefferson barely played, and he didn't even do that good when he did. He had a terrible QB rating and ran for a few yards, nothing's special about that. Russell Sheppard could step up, but he probably wouldn't be great right off the bat. Penn State loses a lot of people, so they're questionable, but it's not suprising to see them there. Oregon loses too many people among the offensive and defensive lines to be as good as last year, especially when their defense wasn't even that good. Even though Blount is back, they lost over half of their rushing yards when Johnson left. Blount can't do what those two did combined last year by himself.
I like your comments, dude. You've got a quite a talent about writing. That's quite the manifesto. But please God, don't say that every college football fan is "casual" because they've never attended a DI-A school. It's elitest, it's stupid, and you'd probably annoy a bunch of non-alumni who live and die by their college, because there's no professional school nearby. Who do you root for, anyway?
No problem Jay, very, very well done man.
If I were you I would drop links to this piece around the Big 10 community members.
It's semi-objectively opinionated and that usually flies fast here and it also has no expiration date until January and beyond.
Then you can just sit back and moderate, replying to each comment and building your reads & commentary. Your next piece should be looked forward to by the Big 10 rabble.
Don't feel weird about soliciting...that's how it happens here with a million or so writer to weed through. Personally, I like people to post me when they publish because I can be one of the first to POTD.
hey man...thanks for the comments and the read. appreciate it
Jay,
If you ever need an edit or a tagging tutorial drop me a BB note and I'll run it down for you.
I did a preliminary edit on your piece just adding appropriate tags and hyper-linking your reference article.
I didn't want to do line breaks because it looks really good as is...but a followup editor will break it up.
You hit a home run on your first piece.
Hey Jay,
It would probably just be best if you and Ryan left each other alone. I will have a chat with Ryan about his temper—you in the meantime should start writing articles more often...I was impressed with your first effort today.
