Steven's Bio

I discovered Bleacher Report on July 1st 2008.

Since joining, I've only become a bigger and bigger fan of the site. The community is fantastic (I love exchanging ideas with 'thinking fans'). I'd seriously encourage anyone with a sports opinion to join in the fun.

I'm from United Kingdom, England. 22 years old at time of writing. No journalistic or public writing experience. Just a "professional fan"...

I love football, tennis, and snooker (sadly not part of b/r). I’m more knowledgeable about football than tennis, snooker than football, and snooker than tennis (that's Snooker>Football>Tennis!). But I'm most passionate about my first love, football.

I've supported Man United since I was about 8, after watching the Manchester Derby. Ryan Giggs soon became my favourite Man United player.

I'm now one of United's most critical 'fans'. In any match they play I always want United to win, but I won't hold my tongue if I think they weren’t the better team. Don't get me wrong, I still love my childhood club passionately, but my support has evolved with age; nowadays, I'm more of an appreciator of simply good football i.e. I want the best team to win. I'll even support both teams in the same match, if I think they're playing a high standard of football.

I intensely dislike Cristiano Ronaldo. Here's a summary of why: I think he's a disgrace to my beloved Manchester United and, undoubtedly, the worst cheater I've ever known in football. Worst still, I've yet to see even ONE outstanding performance from him. I believe great team play, opposition ineptitude, and cheating, are responsible for most of his goals.

Whilst Giggs is my favourite Man U player, Zinedine Zidane is my favourite player, period. To have a collection of all the matches Zidane played in his awe inspiring career (all 610 of them) would be a small dream come true. Right now, I don't know what matches I'm missing, but one day, I'll index the ones I have so far. (Any hard-to-find videos or highlights of Zidane would be gratefully received.)

I'm the first one to admit that I'm not the most articulate writer and I don't possess a massive vocabulary. But what I do have are strong opinions and, like all fans, I always think I'm right! =p I disagree with most 'experts' and critics but I believe that's only cos I try to think for myself.

Ultimately, I'm on b/r for two reasons. One, to publish my opinion, as a passionate sports fan, and two, to improve my English writing skills. My overall aim is to always "say what I mean", eloquently. And I hope the b/r community will help me with that. I welcome any comments to my articles about the content, but will just as much appreciate comments regarding the writing. Thank you in advance.

All in all, what you'll get with me is someone who will stay passionately true to their views, whilst still keeping an open mind.

after that I'll get back to the humour as soon as I think up something.
I know what you meant, and I wasn't planning on getting off B/R, I'll just work on my english while writing.
