Like many others here, not only is baseball Steve's favorite sport, but the Cleveland Indians are his passion. Steve became a Tribe fan by going to the games with family members as a kid and also watching the games on local TV. Yes the games were on free TV in the 80's. Thank god for HD now.
Of course being an Indians fan offers more downs than ups. But that makes the wins even sweeter. Some of Steve's favorite things about baseball is that it is played everyday. Along with so many subtle aspects and strategies that makes baseball a beautiful game and so different than other sports.
One of his favorite moments is still from the 1995 Division Series against Boston. After tying Game 1 with a solo homerun in the 11th inning, Albert Belle gets back into the Tribe dugout and flexes his right bicep, points and yells over to the Red Sox dugout with a menacing look in his eye. It just doesn't get any better than that.
Those who have been to a live game or watched on TV, know to expect anything when Steve is around. Crazy celebrations after big wins, meeting amigos from Venezuela in the crowd, or spontaneous destruction of remote controls or other small household objects after a loss are just a few of the stories about.
When Steve is not watching baseball you might find him at his job in Cleveland working in a laboratory that has a view of Progressive Field. There, he is probably talking about baseball or music while working.
