    Hi Nick, I'm the grandson of Sam Longson and I read you have some strong opinions about him being a 'mostly disagreeable Chairman' , I have recently published a book about my Grandfather and his time at Derby and finding Brian Clough and bringing him to Derby from Hartlepool against the wishes of the then current Board of DCFC - I would be happy to send you a copy of the book for your background info - , I hope to hear from you - Cheers Phil

    I believe you are wrong saying Carrick is not the #1 choice for midfield. Manchester United's dilemma is finding him suitable partner week in and week out not finding a replacement for him. That being said Phil Jones is the best option, but over Carrick? This leaves us with the least dynamic midfield we could possibly create.
