Currently a senior at Hillcrest High School, I was a Student Voices writer for the Dallas Morning News and am currently the Sports Section Editor of my school's yearbook. I have always been a natural athlete and played baseball, soccer, basketball, football, swimming, and ultimate frisbee. Because of my intense interest in sports, I pay much attention to current sporting events going on, including the recent Beijing Olympics. By merging my knowledge of the sports world and my love for writing, I plan on expressing my views professionally as a sports writer for ESPN magazine, Sports Illustrated, and the Dallas Morning News after college.

Write about whatever you want, i would suggest picking one sport, and one team to focus on at first, as that helps u get noticed to get more involved

There really is no set way and length to write for Bleacher Report, i write all of my articles first in Word and then copy them over onto BR. Usually my articles are a page or two. One of my biggest pet peeves on here is people who make an "article" but its only maybe the size of a normal paragraph. The key is if you want report on something and its short, give it your own personal take. The site is of course about opinion, so let yours run wild in the sports world.

As far as being a community leader:

For the Ducks I asked people how to get involved with a team, and as i grew as a writer during the playoffs became one for the Ducks. A few weeks later, i asked how i could become more involved in the NHL section, and being good friends with Bryan Thiel helped me get the spot of NHL CL.

Currently as a team CL there isn't much to worry about, for example a team CL's job is to look over all the articles that come into his/her section, edit any errors (spelling,etc.) and then give it a rating, so that it gets time on the front page of the NHL section. Another big thing for team CL's is recruiting more writers and getting our writers on here more involved.

If your are interested in becoming a team CL, i would recommend you do some articles on that team and be in contact with that sections CL, i know the NHL section has many teams needing CLs, and if your writing and dedication are right, we could move forward closer to the fall if your interested in the NHL section.

Most of my NHL CL job is organization, along with doing the same things as a team CL, but on a larger spectrum. For example, my latest article has a largely "youre an idiot" type response, which is fine, because several people joined BR, just to comment. It is likely, one of all of those who newly joined will become a steady part of BR. So in a way the article served as a recruiting tool.

Also within the NHL section, Bryan and I are trying to get team CL's for every team, as thats most of what we have done this off season. Our top writers within the section are normally pretty easy to remember, and i would recommend being new, if this is an interest, to watch yourself rise on the top NHL writers. This will mean your articles are gaining more reads, and your gaining more recognition.
