I was born and raised in Lordsburg, NM where I attended Lordsburg High School. I played varsity basketball for the Lordsburg Mavericks and I also participated in football, baseball and track. I attended New Mexico State University but did not earn a degree in Journalism. I played in several adult baseball teams during the summer, we called it semi-pro but it was really a keg league. I was a pitcher and a catcher but played every position well. I became a Firefighter for the City of Las Cruces Fire Department in July of 1988. I served 20 years and retired in 2008. I loved my job and would do it for the rest of my life if I could. I am currently living with my girlfriend and our son Joey in Albuquerque, NM.
