Kevan's Bio

Growing up in Idaho, I could have become any number of things--a farmer, a redneck, a NASCAR fan, an environmentalist. Somehow, I settled on writing.

In Seattle, I earned my degree in journalism from Seattle Pacific, and I covered high school sports for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. The big city was a far cry from my humble upbringing, what with its culture and population and traffic. But if anything, it made me a more well-rounded person and a learned writer.

My experiences shape my writing more than anything else, and I always try to put my personality in everything I do. I like to think that my stories are a reflection of me, and I hope that they allow readers to get to know me better. For a Clif's notes version of me, check out these little known facts:

1. I like the Patriots.
2. I have an abject fear of deep water and homeless people.
3. The movie Elf is loosely based on my life.
4. I don't like books. At all.

I recently started my own website at www.kevanlee.com. I know nothing of web design (see first paragraph: growing up in Idaho), but the site does have a lot of good stuff. Feel free to check it out and leave me a note.

Thanks for reading.

  1. Thanks for participating in Bleacher Reports’ official NFL mock draft.

I posted the article in two parts. Right now, the formatting is a little screwed up, but between Ryan and myself, hopefully we’ll get that resolved soon.

Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think. I think it came out pretty good.

    Thanks again for participating!

    -Sean

  4. Just wanted to fill you in on the mock draft plan.

I’m going to do a random draw for teams this weekend. So if you want to actually make picks, please let me know before Sunday morning (unless you already have, then don’t worry about it).

The plan right now is to hold the mock draft in a chat room on April 19th at 2:00 PM EST. Please let me know if this works for you. Depending on everyone’s availability, we may move the time around a bit. I’ll send out the chat room info and the exact time it’s scheduled towards the middle of next week.

The format will be like this:

I’ll announce that the Dolphins are on the clock, whoever is making their pick will make it and give their reason for the pick. Everyone else will get a few minutes to comment on the pick. Then we’ll announce the next team in on the board.

I’m not sure yet if we’ll put all of the comments in the article (I would like to), it depends on how long it ends up. We may end up having to select the best comments for each pick.

I’m looking forward to working with you, should be great!

Email me at scrowe@gmail.com or post a comment on by bulletin board if you have any questions.

    Thanks,
    Sean

  5. Hey Kevan, I just checked out your site and it looks awesome! Don't tell me you don't know anything of web design!

Am I right in assuming that you are a Christian? I read one of your posts, and I sounded like you are. If so, great! So am I!

Please check out my blog and tell me what you think, and maybe we can keep the contact going!

Hope to talk to you soon!

  6. Kevan,
We're trying to put together an "official" Bleacher Report NFL mock draft. We're getting together the best from the NFL section and assigning everyone a team or two (depending on how many people we get). The draft will take place in a chat room set up for us by Zander.

Since you've always been a big part of the NFL section, I figured I'd extend an invitation. Let me know if you're interested in take a team or two.

    Thanks,
    Sean

  7. Hey Kevan,

I just wanted to let you know that Bleacher Report has launched out of beta with an updated look and feel and some great new features. Check out the "Game On" link in the header to find out more.

Next week we'll be launching the site to the world with some public announcements—and it'd be great to get a contribution from you between now and Tuesday to make Bleacher Report's launch a success.

Let me know if you need any help with ideas or have questions. Have a great weekend Kevan!

    Zander

  8. Hello,
I noticed you hail from the great state of Idaho. I was born in Boise but left when I was four. My mother, believe it or nott graduated from Nampa High about a million years ago. I have a few relatives left in Idaho but they are pretty spread out.
My Uncle is a retired editor from the Lewiston Morning Tribune and still writes a weekly column. You may have heard of him, Bill Hall?

Any way, love your stuff, great sense of humor.

  9. Just thought I'd drop by and say hello to a fellow Pats fan. Have a great Thanksgiving!

  10. I wouldn't count on it Kevan we're lucky to have won two games as is. Even though I hate to admit this, I think Niners fans frankly got what they deserved for being so overly confident and flaming people like you who had the guts to look at the situation objectively...

  11. Thanks, Bryan. I'm saving my "I told you so" article until the season is over, just in case the Niners finish on an eight game winning streak.

  12. Man, you were SOOO right about the 49ers. Too bad all those idiots can't come back online and apologize to you. Guess you're not crying, though, with your team playing reasonably well and all.

  14. Those previews you did were awesome man. Enjoy the upcoming season!

  15. Kevan how many teams do you have left in your NFL season preview coverage? Seems like your getting close to the finish line, no?

I much say I admire your drive to follow through on the goals you set for yourself!
