Agreed. Wood was the Cubs best option. He should have won - odds say a pitcher of his caliber at home wins. But he didn't. Not saying Dusty should have pitched someone else. Just saying in the game of the century, and the game of his career, Kerry gagged.

If you could go back to 2003, and see the Cubs in game 7 again, with Prior used up from Game 6, who would you rather put on the mound than Wood?
Clement? Zambrano on short rest? Bottom line, this was a young, unpolished team, and Wood was our best shot.
He failed. So did everyone. End of story, 2008 is here.
