Filmmaker / Hockey Player / College Football Nut are all things that can be used to describe Craig. When it was evident the NHL had no place for an undersized winger with weak ankles Craig moved into advertising and ultimately into film making. His documentary HOCKEY NIGHT IN TEXAS premiered at the Austin Film Festival and is set for release in early 2011.
Thanks for reading and commenting on my article, Craig. I like Dave Thomson as an investor and he would certainly be acceptable to the NHL. I've always believed in the Winnipeg market, but I'm still not sold on the MTS Center. Even if they manage to expand it to 17,000, it is still the bare minimum in today's NHL. In contrast, Hamilton can start expanding its arena from the 17,000 mark. A good question is why Thomson hasn't declared himself as fronting a bid for a returned team, like Quebecor has done for a returned Nordiques. Does he really believe in the arena and the market? He's got enough money to build a new NHL size arena and front a bid without any help from anyone else. What's holding him back?
