Erik's Bio

I'm forever rooted in Boston, and relish my clubs - however awsome or awful they may be.

I made the mistake of hanging up the blades and gloves to pursue life over athletics. My attic now stacked with trophies and uniforms from my yesteryear, I found a passion for breakdowning games and stats beyond normal comprehension.

Leo Duercher once said, "I come to kill you," and I myself would agree with the philosophy. But I my competitive nature no longer being displayed on the ice, I now bring it to "be right."

Hopefully my services are best utilized in the coverage of three great games: Baseball, Football and Hockey.

All Time Sports Moment

Watching Steinbrenner's corporate garbage Yankees crumble at the hands of my beloved Sox. We overcame a 0-3 deficit and there wasn't a damn thing ol' Georgie could do about it as he had already bought up every player in the league, and yet it wasn't enough! Oh how I'll cherish 2004! (But working with WBCN alongside the Pats great title run of '01 was just as sweet. Troy Brown: MVP)

Most Memorable Game Attended

2001 AFC Divsional Playoffs, Pats 16, Raiders 13 (OT). I was in the press box working for WBCN 104.1 (Pats flagsthip station) in the final game played at ol' Schafer Stadium. I think that was the game I shared an elevator with Globe writer Dan Shaughnessy. God i hate that guy. I'll never forget the now legendary "Tuck Play." From my angle I could see the Raiders D-End beat our tackle like a 3rd grader, and you knew Brady was a sitting duck. He never saw it coming. A groan came throughout the media as Brady coughed it up and the ball sat on the snowy ground forever. Then came the infamous review. I turned to some guy... "well," I said, "we'll see if God is a Pats fan now." And since the stadium didn't have a jumbo-tron, we all just sat there. Waiting and waiting. And low and behold, we got the ball back. I truly believe it was redemption of the 1976 Raiders playoff game. The best part of the whole thing, came while the Pats were driving for their winning OT field goal. The scoreboard operator decided to stick it to Oakland by changing the score to 16-13 during the timeout before the field goal. Absolutely classic AFL football. ****Runner Up*** Bengals @ Patriots Wk 16, 1985: Pats clinch final AFC Wildcard spot with win. We were 1st row South endzone season ticket holders at the time. It seemed like every drunken Pats fan stormed the field. The drunks removed both goal posts, six fans even going so far as to take one upright with them. As these dedicated fans were driving down Rt. 1 their new upright sticking out of the vehicle struck an eletrical wire on a telephone pole, electricuting them and sending the car off the road. It was a total scene of chaos. It was 8
