Maria's Bio
I love sports - most of all these two sleepless weeks of the Summer-Olympic-Games - and I love to write. But till I came to know Bleachers I never thought I could write about sports. After all: where was the platform to do so? Yet a fanatic sports-writer I'll never be, as I don't know enough about sport, it's more a hobby.
However I DO know a bit about the equestrian sports and at Bleachers there is almost nothing about it. So this may be the field I'll try my pen at, in the hope that others will follow. Jumping, eventing and dressage are world-wide popular sports, so it's only appropriate that they should be represented at Bleachers too.
And now, June '09, I'm finally sort of leaving a mark on active sport: my 19 year old daughter going for her black belt in Karate (Kyokushinkai). Yeah, proud mom here! And I didn't even mention her competing at several international tournaments and....winning :-)
So sorry for boosting guys, but am so proud and excited: mom's weakness. Haha.

Hello Maria, my horse is in fact a son of Ferro, and his name is Onyx.
Currently I am working on an article, it´s taking a bit long because I fell from another horse of mine (a 5 year old stallion) and broke a scafoid bone in my left wrist.
If you wish to write me directly you are welcome to do so.

I've read your Ajax piece 3 times now and I gotta tell ya, I don't know anything about soccer but after reading your Ajax article I know all about the team, a little history, a little about it's management, it's transitions and it's players. Maybe a peek into it's future too.
If Amsterdam Ajax comes up in a conversation at a NASCAR race ... I'll blow them away now.
Well done and I can't wait for more ... especially your defining of "sport".
