The Best Fans In the NBA
June 25, 2008
Hi, my name is Hugh Jass. I just moved from Intercourse, PA, to Salt Lake City, UT. I didn't think I would like Utah much but I love living in Salt Lake because you can swim, boat, or even go snow-skiing all in the same day. I couldn't do that in Intercourse.
I have never really been a huge Utah Jazz fan, but now that I live in Salt Lake, I understand what the Jazz mean to all of the people here. I am becoming more and more of a Utah Jazz fan every day. However, while I like the Utah Jazz, I love the Miami Heat. My top three favorite players in the NBA are: 1) Dwyane Wade 2) Deron Williams 3) Mario Chalmers.
I absolutely love the NCAA. College football and basketball are the most exciting games to watch other than the NBA. My favorite college teams are the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Utah Utes.
I also like the MLB and the NFL. Well, lets just say I like sports.
One last thing. I hate NASCAR. Does anyone really consider driving a car a sport?

Look through all of my Nuggets Summer League articles. I predicted Jones gaining a spot on the Nuggets' roster.
Lol. I don't think that's how it is supposed to be done, but okay.
Hey Jass,
One of my predictions came true. The Nuggets signed Dahntay Jones to be apart of their roster for the 08-09 season. I was right.
HAha i'll be yours if you be mine.
Thanks for the love Hugh. I've read your work as well and I enjoy it.
Thanks for the compliment! You're a good writer, I enjoyed your Paul-Williams piece when it came out. My only advice in evaluating players like Paul and Williams is to see exactly how they impact a game. Look for how they pass, how they defend, whether they need the ball to be effective, what they do off the ball, etc.
Too many basketball fans nowadays base everything off of numbers. Just keep that aspect of your fandom (fanhood?) as minimal as possible and your writing will follow.
Enjoy the summer! I can't wait for the 2008-09 season to get under way already!
Thanks for reading the Jazz article, I think you and 2 others read it, but I was proud of it.
Hugh - Thanks for the comments! I clarified the point I was trying to get across regarding Jamison's age.
You have written some good articles Hugh, it is nice to see some other up and coming NBA writers on BR. I love your display picture by the way.
