What a miserable weekend of sport for England! First a mauling by the All Blacks in the rugby, which is understandable, but then from a position England appeared they couldn't lose from, in the cricket, they did! 49-5 New Zealand were, McCullum out 3rd over, Tremlett and Broad had NZ batters in a vice. When Ross Taylor missed a straight one when driving, the resignation on his face told the story of New Zealand's tour so far, the wolf huffing and puffing at the house of bricks till exhaustion. But momentum is key in a ODI series and England's sloppiness in the field let New Zealand set a total of 182, with Grant Elliot hitting a half century, supported by Kyle Mills. From there it should have been set for England to polish off the target, but suspect shot selection led to an all to familiar batting collapse for England, being bowled for just 160, with Mills and youngster Tim Southee sharing seven wickets. England now head back to the capital with the score 1-1 with two to play, New Zealand will be ecstatic that new life has been bled into to this tour, whilst England will have a hard look in the mirror to see how that one got away.
