Jay 's Bio

I live in the Low County of South Carolina and have followed college football since 1977. I try to stay objective as I can but I have a clear bias for the ACC and SEC. I do tend to look at stats to make most of my assessments.

  1. jay,

check this out if you get a chance:

a story i feel is getting overlooked.

    thanks!

  2. Jay, I agree with you. I don't think he is genuinely that bad of a ref but he does think of himself as this sort of celebrity referee. I mean I've never seen a ref walk around the satdium before a game shaking hands and waving at fans like this guy does. From what Ive heard on cbs sports forums this is not the first time crap like this has happened. I loved how when Butch Davis tried to challenge one of those last plays of the game you could hear Cherry say "Your not going to get it" over the PA system. Just one of those refs that wants to make his presence known. Hopefully we won't have him again.

  3. Jay,

I want to start a B/R college football poll with B/R writers as the pollsters.

If you are interested, I would love for you to participate.

  4. Trent,

I think you are missing the point. Peerman is good. I just do not think he is as good as you seem to think. Until he has good games against quality teams I will contiune to think the other kids are better. And he still is yet to show me anything.

  5. Ok for real man don't go around criticizing a guy that just happens to be better than your teams running back. Cedric Peerman is once again overshadowed by the fact that he plays for UVa just like Sean Singletary was for their basketball team. UVa returns their two big tackles, one being Eugene Monroe who, in case you didn't know, is vying for a spot on the All-American Team. Cedric Peerman is going to do great this year. And by the way, Clemson played Furman, Lousiana-Monroe, an FSU team that was worse than UConn last year (remember UConn was ranked in the top 25 at one point), and NC State who was also pretty bad. And they weren't beating Peerman in week 5. As a matter of face he was about 120 yards ahead of everyone. Needless to say you're probably just another Miami or VT fan who feels the need to pick on UVa sports. Don't worry though, no matter how bad you think UVa is going to be, I don't care. Why you ask? Because they could lose every game this season and it still wouldn't change the fact that UVa beat Miami in the Orange Bowl 48-0 last year. And I'm still rejoicing over that.

Coker was the right choice at the time. He is a good offensive minded coach but a poor HC.
He has stated numerous times in south Florida he would love the chance to coach again.
He has not even been contacted by ANY Florida high schools to coach.( and no D1 college)
He isn't making a bundle being the 4th combo analist for ESPNU, He is living in Ft Myers Fl.
Coker is a wonderful man, I've talked to him at Canefest lots of times. He isn't a disciplinarian and is the worst recruiter the program has ever had.

Dorsey and Reed campaigned for him and Shlala gave them the green light.
He inherited all of Butch Davis recruits.
The Hurricanes were primed to make NC runs from 1999. You or I could have coached that group.

The 2001 Miami Hurricanes are regarded as the greatest college team of all time by many people.
Through poor recruiting and no disipline , Coker eroded the program to what we were last season.
Watch how the Canes perform this year with fresh faces in the line up and a coach that has them focused.
As for your comment on Floridas secondary:
